We have toyed with the idea of an IL version of entire isles, but the idea has never really taken off. We would also need to work out some timing things with it. Rest assured, it is on the list of things I'd like to see added, but it's not a huge priority right now
Hater% is planned, and Gauntlet is pretty likely. I imagine co-op will happen at some point too, but we have to work on implementation things with that and other categories first
It depends on what you want though. If you want to do the weapon swap, for instance, you need to go all the way back to 1.0
We are planning to add some categories to the extension boards, just not as big a priority right now.
Also, I think the DLC name is fine. It's relevant because it is the game's DLC. Even if you want to take the approach that DLC stands for Delicious Last Course, it makes way more sense to shorten it because that's a rather long title. They clearly chose that name to coincide with the letters DLC, so that's not far off. Really though, the reason why we called it DLC isn't relevant to anything. If you want to internally think it stands for Delicious Last Course, be my guest. But whether it actually does or not is pretty meaningless to the boards
The DLC broke the autosplitter and we’re trying to get the one fixed, but the developer has been pretty busy lately. I believe we have some alternative solutions if you ask around the Discord though!
Don’t think that’ll wind up being a whole new category, but we’ll see! Think it’s more likely to be used as a variable within the other categories though
Co-op tutorial could be doable fairly easily. Once this DLC stuff settles down a bit, I’ll try to add it.
As far as whole Isles, that’s been something I’ve wanted to do for a while. Needs a little work done on the idea first, but I’ll see what I can do, again, once the DLC settles down a bit
There will likely be a variable indicating whether DLC content is used. We haven’t gotten around to dealing with extension categories yet though, but that’s what we’re aiming to do for the base game, so I think it makes sense to do it here too
I know I had fixed this on King Dice earlier today, but wasn’t aware this was a tutorial problem as well. Will look at it in the morning!
We’re likely planning to add a Gauntlet category in the extension boards due to getting quite a few requests for it. We’ve just had bigger priorities right now trying to get some of the main game stuff and regular ILs added. Hopefully soon though!
If you're doing a base game run, there should be an option to say whether you used the DLC or not. Otherwise, for any DLC or Base Game + DLC runs, you should be able to use her if you want. I don't think we'll wind up making a category specifically for her though
Hey every. I was working on the IL boards and accidentally messed up the Root Pack ILs. If you have a Root Pack run on the boards, please check that it is still there and under the correct version. If not, please DM me either on Discord or here on SRC with the relevant information so I can fix it!
Hi there,
Just have a few ideas for some board organization features that would be helpful to us on the Cuphead boards right now:
-
Being able to hide variables on the boards, so not all of them show up. Currently, I'm running into an issue where our newest variable just displays as a column of "..." because there are too many showing on the boards. At least for our purposes, it's useful to track that info and it's great to have still since people can filter by it, but doing so right now makes the boards look pretty nasty since there's no way to hide that column.
-
The ability to have subcategories apply to specific subcategories if needed, instead of broadly to a given category. Not all of our categories need a difficulty subcategory, but we can't implement a difficulty subcategory without creating difficulty versions for all the subcategories, which would create a bunch of empty boards.
I'm happy to discuss specific examples or anything if needed. It's quite possible that these issues are more specific to our community, but I'm posting here just in case they might be useful to others as well.
Thank you!
Sorry for the delay, but there's been a lot we've had to discuss. I'm getting ready to add some of the main categories now
Please be patient, there’s a lot to figure out
Not the boards for the DLC. That’s gonna take a little bit yet
Yeah, the only thing we accept is unmodified gameplay, with no external tools. By all means use debug mode as a practice tool though!
Not that it really matters all that much, but added for the sake of completeness
The idea was to cut out map time, and just add up the boss times. Sort of what the classic Sonic community does. That said, I think we're too ingrained in our current timing method to change something so massive. We had considered it when the game came out, but opted not to go for it. Even adding it as a separate category would be too messy
I believe someone said downpatching was pretty easy to do on it. I don't have any experience with it myself though
