kickStart doesn't work as open source, period. It's not about the outcome, the point is that what is being claimed here is not at all true. I don't care if my tool isn't allowed, even if there are no reasons for it, it's not my problem. But I have a reputation to lose. It may be that nobody knows me in the NFS scene, after all, I came to the RRP server for the first time in April 2023. But that doesn't mean that I'm a random guy. I am founder of communities with in the meantime 10k+ members and I'm still admin there, although became kinda inactive I'm still in their teams with other very capable people, who even reverse engineered an old game (Sensible World of Soccer) and further developed a fan remake out of it, which has also been approved by the inventor, Codemasters and now EA, and with whom we are still in contact. Before that, I did ensure that the original game can also be played online by programming a netplay launcher for it, but also by helping to set up a website that then organized offline and online leagues and tournaments. I organized annual international offline tournaments that have been recognized as official world championships by Codemasters since 2008. And all of these competitions are still taking place today. It has always been my top priority that they are always fair in the spirit of electronic sports, to connect the people to have fun together. Nevertheless, everyone, even if they have no experience, should be able to freely express their opinion and make suggestions for rules, even if they cannot expect them to be taken up. But the way in which the slander is now taking place is not only unacceptable but also baseless. It just pisses me off that I now have to justify something that is just a hobby. After all, what benefit would I get from distributing malware in my name for a game that was basically dead?
Einstein was right! Anyway, at least the post is bit better now. Most of it is still lies, but at least those are a bit more obvious. But with all respect, decompiling is really hard. But all your "findings" can everyone check with Process Monitor for himself without the hassle of decompiling, which is btw illegal and I don't remember that you asked me for permission. But the most annoying thing is that you try to sell me as a colleague pig who is not giving credit to others work. You can see all credits in kickStart. And the one you mention is not a simple fork, and it's open source, everyone can compare with the original code, all links are available in the software. Also, that's an .asi plugin for the game, so it has nothing to do with my .exe file. That I would use codes from mods is even more nonsense if you know that those are not written in Delphi. It's sad that I need to explain this all and also, it was not rx requesting the source code, it was you. The removal happened because you requested it, and now you are using it as a "proof". Would almost be funny if it wasn't so sad. Anyway, the world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It's a very mean and nasty place...
Using the highlight system to measure the time is the only way to get precise values as you can see when the ball is in, in that moment or frame when the result is changed.
However, uploaded the other video again which is not a highlight. So, there are now 3 pending submissions: first one I've updated the time from 2.75s to 2.69s. The second one is the 2.18s as no highlight without timer and the last one as highlight and timer.
Sorry, I saw too late that I'm able to edit my submission, so please delete my first one. I've measured with the highlight file and it's actually 3.18s. However, xflea sent me his highlight file too and i've measured his also and it's even 3.15s!! Congrats ;)
