reviving this thread due to some top extreme endless runs using afk strategies
again, should they be considered legitimate runs when all you do is leave your device on in a glitch spot waiting for the killers to despawn? i know that this gamemode is notoriously difficult due to the killer abilities, but the lack of effort to play the game... where's the prestige, skill, and determination in that?
this reduces the world record competition to a chore and not of skill, what these afk runs are doing is undermining the efforts of dedicated and talented players.
so, my stance is invalidate such records that primarily uses afk, but allow the use of glitch spots as long as these are being used proactively in a run to eliminate killers not through despawning, but through conventional means i.e. traps or weapons
more advanced tips from letterg:
-
use trap strategies over camp strategies at 200+, that way you'll only take an average of 30 minutes per round at early 300s, a lot shorter than using checkpoint or any other camp strategy. In multiplayer games, theoretically, you can run camp strategies such as double barrel strategy up to 200 before switching to traps. However, running trap strategies in multiplayer requires a lot of coordination.
-
manipulate killer spawn mechanics by standing in certain spots (e.g. behind the mystery box for the Large Corridor trap), or by leaving areas closed to maximize trap kills per activation. more kills per trap activation = faster rounds.
-
practice hoarding and movement that keeps killers aggro as much as possible, as the "aggro state" is the most optimal killer pathfinding as opposed to their "passive state." this leads to proper trap timing = faster trap activation = efficient trap kills.
btw proper trap timing is when you arrive to a trap just as it finishes recharging
