This strategy can save around 2.5 seconds for Alternate Ending and 100% speedrun categories. Though it may be less if In Game Time doesn't count pausing.
I believe it's possible to get it in one head up-throw to save even more time. My gameplay on the right is spliced at the checkpoint due to the precision of the trick. Though with enough practice I think it can be done consistently.
It's possible to get the final chip collectable without warping using precise platforming. I think it would save a few seconds over using the warp. I'm not sure it would be a great strategy for runs due to its precision at the end of the run. But is this known about? I did it without the warp during my initial playthrough and I wasn't recording since I thought it was the intended strategy.
