The segmented board is more for showcase purposes, showing off the fastest possible tricks and routes, rather than for competitive purposes. Fed's run has been obsoleted, in essence, by Ector's run, but both are shown for record keeping. So, there's no need making more categories for segmented.
As a series moderator for Assassin's Creed, since @Fed981 hasn't logged onto srdc in 5 years, I'm requesting to remove his super moderator status across all the AC games he currently mods. Thank you.
We have now archived the Better Any% category: the final leaderboard and every run submitted, http://bombch.us/C7Zr
You split the run into segments. A segment is usually starts when load the save file and ends when you exit the save file, or basically one continuous section of the run. For the AC games, you would make a backup save file then start running a segment. When you fail a segment or do it poorly, you can load the backup file, then try again. Rinse and repeat until you're satisfied with you fast you went in that segment, update the backup save, and continue to the next segment of the run. After you complete the game, you stitch all the segments into one video, completing your segmenting run. One would do this to show how fast one could beat the game as humanly possible. It usually is a lot of grinding and replaying the same segment as you typically go for the craziest and most optimal strats in the game found at the time. Hope that helps :)
I have now added PS4 and Xbox One to the list of platforms.
I don't think any runs using the Animus Control Panel should be allowed.
That's one funky glitch, also I added the WiiU version now to the list of versions.
We now have a Any% category that doesnt allow DLC under Misc. so you can run without Sequences 12 and 13 (and all other DLC)
A warp is teleporting to a spot on the map. Reloading a checkpoint during a mission, changing outfits, and save+quitting/quitting+reloading constitutes as warps. The in-game fast travel system is considered warping. Warping abuses the game's spawning system. The game doesn't save your exact spot on the map, it saves what "zone" you are in, so when you reenter, you spawn at the designated point for that zone.
100% is just full synchronization. That means all main missions and all side missions (beat-ups, races, assassinations, courier missions, tombs and lairs), and it does include all the Templar Lairs/Auditore Crypt from UPlay. This doesn't include statuettes, feathers, weapons, upgrades, 100% Monterrgioni, and opening every chest.
So far a route hasn't been made yet. My plan is to wait for big exploits to be found because the run would be so long and difficult to route as it is. I do know that BnH247 is interested in getting a route going, however. Not sure about Ectortutu. You could also join the discord to post anything that could be helpful in the game (it's kinda dead so hoping to be of some use :) ): https://discord.gg/sTWdQSH
Nice find! Just looking at it, I doubt this can be useful in a run because of the way the game progresses with memories in sequences, so I don't think getting in an area early will do anything. Regardless of its usefulness, finding glitches in this game is great to see. Who knows, I might be wrong and it could be useful in the future once we find other glitches.
I'm available after 7pm Friday, then all Saturday and Sunday.
