Any% No PU Guide

First up let's talk about how you can complete the game faster. 1st is to click faster I personally use jitter clicking but use Butterfly clicking when my fingers get tired but you can use what you find best. 2nd is you can join the Henry stickmin Speedrunning discord server they can help you get started and troubleshoot some of your problems. 3rd is to watch some top runners to see what they do as of 6/23/2022 these are the links to the top 4 times: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LpiTEDyDBuU

Next up before you start your run you must clear your save data you can do this by clicking the face in the bottom right > Clear Data > Confirm (Note: If you don't clear your save data your speedrun will be rejected). after clearing your save data you are ready to begin your run of The Henry Stickmin collection.

You start your timer when you click the "Play" option in the menu of breaking the bank. After waiting for the cutscene to the end you will click the "Disguise" option as fast as possible. After the screen fades to black at the end you can do one of two things.

1. you can do Menu > Skip intro on Breaking the Bank > Menu again > go to Escaping the Prison > skip intro. this skip will skip the beginning cutscene for Escaping the prison.
2.  or you can perform a trick called "Lagless" it's a harder trick that saves around 0.5 - 1.0 seconds. to do this you do Menu > Skip the Breaking the Bank intro > hover over an option > Menu > go to Escaping the Prison > skip the Escaping the prison intro

For Escaping the prison the most optimal ending to get is "Sneaky Escapist" to get this ending you will choose these options File > Door > Spam click the left side of the screen > Spam click the right side of the screen > Chair > Green Right arrow > Plungers.

 again at the end, you can skip the intro by doing Menu > Skip Escaping the Prison intro > Menu > Going to Stealing the diamond or you can do lagless by doing Menu > Skip Escaping the Prison Intro > hover over an option > menu > going to Stealing the Diamond.

For Stealing the Diamond the most optimal ending to get is "Unseen Burglar" to do this you do Sneak in > Teleporter > Penny > Wire > Hammer > Plank > Diamond. again you can either do Menu > Skip Stealing the Diamond Intro > Menu > go to Infiltrating the Airship > skip intro. Or you can do Menu > Skip Stealing the Diamond Intro > Hover over an option > Menu > Go to Infiltrating the Airship > Skip intro.

For Infiltrating the Airship the most optimal ending to get is "Rapidly Promoted Executive" to get this you will do Cannon Ball > Chair > Eject > Beans > Rocket jump > Yo-Yo > Goods > Glider > Dummies. again you can do either Menu > Skip The Infiltrating the Airship intro > Menu > go to Fleeing the Complex > Skip intro or Menu > Skip The Infiltrating the Airship intro > Hover over an option > Menu > go to Fleeing the Complex > Skip intro

For Fleeing the complex the most optimal ending to get is "Ghost inmate" To get this you will do Boost up > Click the Left arrow > Whoopee Cushion > Power Jump > Balloon > Helium > Leaf > Dinghy. To get to Completing the Mission we have to do things a little differently by doing > Menu > Clicking "Play" on Fleeing the Complex > going to Completing the mission.

For Completing the Mission as soon as you start Click on the two endings we got for the last two episodes which were "Rapidly Promoted executive" and "Ghost Inmate" Then you will do > Skip intro on the top right > Helicopter Hat > Dave > And then finally the last option Deuces!

With that, you have completed the game and your timer can stop when you see the achievement called "TCW" appear on the screen

Final note: You do NOT stop your timer when the Mission Complete? text appears on screen.

Any% PU - Beginner's Guide

THSC - Any% (PU)
- Explaining: If you don’t know what PU is, I don’t mind. PU stands for Parallel Universe. In this case it means you have two games going at once. Which means that you can do more in just one play and ultimately do it fast. But just to put the cherry on top, there’s another trick called map boosting. The way to do this is simple. In ItA - FtC, you can skip a major part of cutscenes saving countless seconds. I’ll explain this into detail later. 
- Rules and Preparations: Now the only thing you have to know are the rules. Beat the game as fast as possible without any unfair assistances (Auto Clicker, TAS so on.) Besides that, time starts when pressing “Play” on BtB, and ends when getting the TCW Achievement in CtM. If there’s anything you might not understand, I will be sure to answer your questions in the discord DMs (mano77#3004 cause i am the one copying the guide) 

- BtB: BtB is easy enough, you simply just press disguise. If you watch the WR Speedrun you can figure out where the menu buttons are. These bois are handy, since you can Menu, Skip Intro Menu to save 5-10sec. 

- EtP: As you press skip intro on EtP choose File. Then choose cell door. The most effective way to get rid of the police officers are timing. Really it’s just trial and error. The first guard appears on the left, the other on the right. Choose chair and go right, finally press plungers. Do the same thing as in BtB, Pressing Menu, Skip Intro, Menu - StD.

StD: Skip Intro, Sneak In, Teleporter, Penny, Wire, Hammer, Plank, Diamond. Menu, Skip Intro Menu - ItA.

- ItA: PU and Map Boosting is extremely helpful as this is where PU gets highlighted. If you press Play - Skip Intro then choose Cannon Ball before the Intro plays out, you can effectively have the whole Cannon Ball cutscene play out without even seeing or hearing it. So now pressing Skip, opening you’re Map, closing you’re map and hovering over a choice, will skip the majority of the cutscene. Doing this 1-3 times more will make you able to map to The Bridge. (Note 1: do QTEs like usual, then click Play, map intro Brig (damaged, and choose rocket jump, then do the showdown like in an any% no pu speedrun, then play, skip intro and map into ventillation and choose glider). After that, simply do your normal No PU Route up to Cargo Bay. Now it gets really tricky. Press Menu, Play - Skip Intro, Map - Cargo Bay (Hostage) and choose Dummies. Now this trick is INSANELY DIFFICULT. It can take up to 30 min. To just get one successful attempt. Keep doing so until you can you can trust yourself in a normal run. Now simply Map Boost until you see the “Ending Screen” in the right corner of the map. Then Menu - Skip Intro, Menu. FtC.

- FtC: Skip Intro - Boost Up, Menu. Play, Skip Intro, Play Dead, Skip, Map - Maintanance vent, left, whoopee cushion, Retry, Map Boost, Power Jump, Balloon, Helium, Menu Play - Skip Intro, Play Dead, Skip - Map - Docks, Leaf, Dingthy, Retry Map Boost until you see Henry in his dinghy in the coroner, Menu, CtM.

btb is the same click disguise and do the skip intro carry glitch by clicking skip intro > menu > pu on ETP click teleporter then the skip then with a decent frame window click file then click cell door then the fail text will pop up this is when you need to be precise click map on the right frame to where the qte pops up but not too late too where you cant click both qte  > the Quick time event click both qte (or a slower  but more accurate way pu > rocket > skip > map > qte fail text map closet ) > on the right frame click menu when the fail text pops up or a slower but more accurate version click map until it updates and show the closet room then either click map then menu or move your mouse precisely on the sliver of the menu button under the map then pu > pu click rocket launcher > skip > map > closest > chair > right > fail text will pop up later with the rocket so you have enough time to click the chair and right unlike the teleporter > menu > pu > pu click teleporter > map > rooftop > plunger > menu > skip intro > wait until the last sounds before the episode completion screen with the next episode button yea that screen > menu > skip intro glitch and progress like usual if I find any thing else I'll add that

Start > Skip Intro > PU Cell Phone > File > Cell Door > Click! > Click! > Chair > Right > Menu > Start > Skip Intro > PU Teleporter > Map > Courtroom (from Map) > Bag > Present! > Menu > Start > Skip Intro > PU Teleporter > Map > Rooftop (from Map) > Plungers > Retry > Drill > Crowbar > Down > Left > Click!

alright so after you did breaking the bank and hide in a bag then you need to go to menu after you go in the menu than you press by breaking the bank skip cutscene than go back into the menu and if you done it corret you would see by ETP skip cutscene otherwise the skipcutscene button is not showed in ETP the fastest ending is the one when you echeep of the roof so try to get that ending than you will do the same as the neding of BTB the hole menu thinbg you want to do that for every ep by STD the ending that you want to get is the one where you throw the penny that one after you do again that skip thing is ITA this one is the ball the fastest again skip glitch is FTC this one you will need to get the ending where you left elie behide but don't do the cutshene skip gliths this one is a other glitch go to the menu and press by FTC start and while you see the cracters doning there thing go to CTM and press extreemling fast by CTM and wait while by the menu of CTM then fill in you'r two endings you chet and now press skip as fast as possible and compleet the speedrun

Fastest Any% Route

Now listen, listen. I know I haven't done an Any% run yet, but I happen to know the fastest route. No, this does not mean I can tell you how to beat jkr's time (if that's even possible), but I know how you could possibly get a similar time as long as you're fast.
NOTE: jkr is probably frame-perfect, so don't tell me "OGM U LIDEEEE I DIDTN BET JRK TIEMMM" because I literally said it probably won't happen.
NOTE 2: Before an Any% run, you MUST delete your save file. If you don't, your run will probably be rejected. 
NOTE 3: PUs kinda don't help during an Any% run.

For Breaking the Bank
NOTE: Time starts as soon as you click play. Because you deleted your save file, Skip Intro shouldn't be available here.
Simply choose Disguise.

For Escaping the Prison (Sneaky Escapist)
NOTE: While Lawyered Up only has 2 choices, it's longer than Badass Bust Out, which is longer than Sneaky Escapist by about a minute. ouchie
File -> Cell Door -> Click Left (QTE) -> Click Right (QTE) -> Chair -> Right -> Plungers

For Stealing the Diamond (Unseen Burglar)
Sneak In -> Teleporter -> Penny -> Wire -> Hammer -> Plank -> Diamond

For Infiltrating the Airship (Rapidly Promoted Executive)
NOTE: Relentless Bounty Hunter is slower than Rapidly Promoted Executive by a few seconds and leads to longer endings in Completing the Mission.
NOTE 2: The Yo-Yo is a bit faster than the Dagger.
Cannon Ball -> Chair -> Eject (QTE) -> Beans (QTE) -> Rocket Jump -> Yo-Yo -> Goods -> Glider -> Dummies

For Fleeing the Complex (Ghost Inmate)
NOTE: While Ghost Inmate is a bit slower than The Betrayed (fastest Fleeing the Complex ending), TB leads to Revenged, which is more of a timeloss than what Ghost Inmate gets you to, which is Toppat Civil Warfare, the fastest Completing the Mission ending.
DISCLAIMER: I'm not sure if getting the Nailed It achievement is a time save or not, as Henry doesn't flop onto his face, changing his animation.
Boost Up -> Left -> Whoopee Cushion -> Power Jump -> Balloon -> Helium -> Leaf -> Dinghy

For Completing the Mission (Toppat Civil Warfare)
NOTE: Time ends when Toppat Civil Warfare shows up, not when Mission Complete(?) shows up.
Rapidly Promoted Executive + Ghost Inmate -> Helicopter Hat -> Dave -> Deuces!

You should get a time of a bit more than 10 minutes if you're quick.

How to Copy your THSC Save Data

i dont think too many people know this till they ask about it, so im just gonna make this guide to show how to do it.

go to the app data folder. this cant be accessed normally, but there are methods to find the folder. i personally use the method where you type "%appdata%" in the search bar.

you should be able to find a folder that looks like this:

open the folder and click on the local store folder and you should see these files:

copy and paste them into a seprate folder. i have folder that contains a bunch of different saves, looks like this:

you dont need to have the extra folders, i mostly just have them for things like category extensions.

the last thing you need to do is go into steam and go into the properties and uncheck "enable steam cloud synchronization for The Henry Stickmin Collection" at the end of updates.

and there you go, your save is now copied. feel free to delete your data for runs & replace it whenever you need to by going back to that folder.

How to PU

So you may have seen some runs that seem to be doing 2 endings at once and you could be thinking "That's cheating! They can't do that!". But they can. It's a glitch the moderators have allowed that's called Parallel Universe. The process of doing Parallel Universe is simple, but using it correctly is the complete opposite, which is why I won't go too in-depth about how to use it. Hell, I can barely do it myself.

So here's how you can activate PU.
WARNING: If you want to use PU in a run, you will have to restart your save file. This makes it much easier for moderators to retime your run. That being said, I recommend you experiment with PU on a completed save file so you don't delete your progress for nothing. I did that once. It was painful.
WARNING 2: Using PU can sometimes softlock your game.
NOTE: You cannot use PU in Completing the Mission, as there is no Skip Intro button.
NOTE 2: Try to make sure you submit PU runs in the PU categories of Full and Level runs. If the category currently doesn't have a PU category, don't worry. I'm sure it'll be added.

1. Go to any Henry Stickmin game in the Henry Stickmin Collection (except CtM).
2. Check if the Skip Intro button is available from the play screen. If it's not, click play then click menu.
3. This part is quite precise. Click play then very quickly hit skip intro. Then select any option before the intro plays (doesn't matter if it's a fail, as even fails can speed up a run's time). Wham! You're in a parallel universe.

Sadly I cannot add more detail into this. There are several parallel universe routes you can do to immensely speed up your time but some are very precise and are too hard to explain using words. As I said before, remember to practice PU on a completed save file before you do your actual run, as going into a PU blindly is probably one of the if not the worst idea you could have.
