What emulator do you use that has no sound and what recording software do you use?

I'd say the video rules apply in this case. The rules say that video is required for runs under 12 minutes. If your run is 12 minutes or more then the missing audio is not a big deal.

Have you tried other emus? mGBA for me runs super nice and VisualBoy lags a lot but it's at least playable.
