Hello STT Runners,
Recently, GhostHNW and the mod team came up with the idea of exiting to the menu at the beginning of the levels "Ye Olde Ruins," "Lancelot's Castle Attack," and "Prison Castle Attack," and selecting them in the scene select to skip the opening cutscene. We are also considering doing the same for the final cutscene of all levels that have an unskippable cutscene at the end (remembering that it is something designed for ng+).
We want to know what you all think. Did you like this idea? Would you prefer it to be allowed only for opening cutscenes? It shouldn't be allowed to both? Let us know!
Note: Apparently this doesn't work in the PC version, so disregard this version of the discussion.
Leaving my opinion here. So, I think it's valid skipping the opening cutscenes of the 3 levels mentioned, and I also think it's valid skipping the final cutscene of Lancelot's Castle Attack and Prison Castle Attack, since in Lancelot's you can select the cutscene before high high peak in the scene select and Prison Castle doesn't have a cutscenes at it's end, then we could just select Catacombs right after. As for the rest of the levels, I think they could be too, but if people don't like it I'm cool with that. But to make it clear that skipping the final cutscene is supposed to be used ONLY in ng+ runs.
I don't oppose to the idea so long as you need to make a clear distinction on it.
Like:
- Skipping some opening and ending cutscene by quitting out from menu is ONLY ALLOWED in NG+ except...
That "except" is only for the exemption that can work on non-NG+ category.
I'm in favor of the idea, this is just an exploration of the game and not a patch to skip scenes for example, I don't see anything unusual in this to be banned in speedruns
UPDATE: The changes have been confirmed
