Howdy!
I've been doing a few offline runs to learn this game on console but was interested to see if there was a GunCon point and click type deal for emulator and came across a plugin for the emulator called Nuvee that works quite well
I'm just inquiring as to whether use of this would be allowed for runs as it has some advantage over standard controls in terms of aiming?
Cheers!
In my opinion no, you would either have to use an actual GunCon which i dont think you can do with an emulator or just play normally, but using what you are referring to could be classed as a mod somewhat.
While I do see where you're coming from and I can somewhat agree, I wouldn't really class it as a mod because it's pretty much a guncon plugin for the emulator as opposed to some sort of external program. The only difference is it requires less skill than physically aiming an actual gun controller to shoot in the desired location
Thanks for the response though! I did feel like it was worth asking because there are a mixture of controller and guncon runs for console users so I thought there's a chance this might be allowed
I do have a console though so I think I'll just order a guncon since they are quite cheap :)
Well the only reason emulator is allowed in the first place is because the run is timed in game time, if it was timed RTA im pretty sure it wouldnt be allowed :)
Several years late, but this game does natively have mouse support. Plug a USB 1.0 mouse into the PS2 and you can move the cursor with it while holding the left side of the controller with your other hand. With the nuvee plugin you can properly emulate that. At that point it isn't a mod.
