Console Differences:
PSP: Can both Infect and activate Retribution+ by connecting itself to a copy of Resistance 2 on the PlayStation 3. As such, PSP has the most available categories to run.
PSVita: Has access to TheOfficialFloW's Remastered controls. This activates Retribution+. The Vita may be able to Infect the game via the LiveArea and connecting to a PlayStation 3, but this is untested. Running the game through Adrenaline is allowed and not considered emulation, but should me mentioned in the run comment.
PSTV: Same thing as the Vita, however cannot become Infected by any known means.
PSClassic: Restricted to Retribution Plus. Thanks to a free DLC update to version 1.02, Infected Plus can be accessed.
Emulators: Emulator is allowed provided both version and clock speed are shown. PPSSPP versions before 1.0 are banned. PSVita Emulators are banned. There is no known way to Infect or activate Retribution+ on the emulator.
Variables & Sub-Categories:
Playthrough: Retribution creates user profiles that save all acquired intel, weapons and skill points. 'Fresh' profiles are ones that have not begun campaign yet in any way, and have collected no weapons, intel, or skill points. 'NG+' profiles have done at least one of those things. Creation of 'Fresh' profiles is not required to be shown.
Difficulty: Retribution has multiple difficulties; select the one you do the run on.
Mode: Retribution can be modified in a number of ways. The PSP has access to the most options and Emulator has the least. See "Infected & Retribution+" below for more details. Select the mode that applies to your run.
Magnum: Applies to any run that uses the magnum during it, this does not include runs done on profiles that simply posses the magnum. All infected runs and NG+ playthroughs with all intelligence have access to this weapon.
Aim-Assist: IL only variable, simply confirms if using Aim-Assist.
Infected: IL only variable, simply confirms if playing while Infected.
Infected: This mode adds Underwater Breathing, Poison Gas Breathing, slightly altered Story, the Magnum at the start of a Fresh campaign, and Regenerating HP. It is currently only known to work on physical PSPs and must be activated using a copy of Resistance 2 on the PlayStation 3 and a USB cable. As of patch 1.02, the Classic release can be played through on Infected.
Retribution+: This mode disables Aim-Assist, Makes the game somewhat harder, and remaps some of the controls to allow for better use and feel on a Controller for all consoles that support the users controller of choice. This mode must be activated using a copy of Resistance 2 on the PlayStation 3 and a USB cable for the PSP, however, for PSVita/PSTV systems, enabling TheOfficialFloW's Remastered controls will activate this mode, and is allowed. PSClassic uses this mode by default.
Retribution+ Control Changes:
- PSP: Right D-Pad Swaps Weapons / DualShock: Left D-Pad Also Swaps Weapons
- PSP: Up D-Pad Aims Down Sights / DualShock: Down D-Pad Aims Down Sights
- PSP: Down D-Pad is Action button / DualShock: X button is Action button.
- PSP: Left D-Pad Reloads / DualShock: Square Button Reloads
- PSP: Face Buttons^ moves Camera / DualShock: Right Analog moves Camera. On a PSVita/PSTV this can be remapped using adrenaline to the R. Analog.
Hey all!
Did some housekeeping to make the boards a little nicer.
- Removed the need to specify Adrenaline
- Changed NG+/Fresh to a "annotation" similar to how FoM and R2 do it
- other minor adjustments behind the scenes
