Ok so now that you've got the longest act out of the way, you move onto Act IV where it's time to take down the Syndicate and the Warlords.

As in part 1 of my Any% guide I'll list some of the missions which I think will give players a hard time if they are playing it through for the first time as well as some general pointers too in places where I think it's needed.

  • Act IV

Fair to say every mission in this act will give you a hard time should you get it wrong so I'll do my best to explain the basis of these missions in order and give some tips.

  1. Coastal Countdown - Get to the Lumber Mill to stop the missiles being sent off into Capital City by the Warlords. First thing to mention is keep your car alive and put your foot down throughout this entire driving section until you reach the end, be careful not to get too badly damaged here as you'll die pretty quickly thanks to a lack of AI that attack you on the roads instead you'll more need to deal with terror from the skies. Once you've got as far as you can you'll take to the water and have to take down boats before you get to the Mill so be quick and keep alive as best as you can!

Once you've arrived at the mill you'll need to deal with the Missile Launchers themselves by placing explosives on them, eliminate as many Warlord gang members as you can and destroy those launchers before time runs out. As with all on-foot parts of this game, take cover as much as you can and keep an eye on the cycles of the weapon fire so that when you hit them they can't shoot back and if needed you can always arrest enemies to obtain their weapons. Also be careful of trip mines, hitting one of these will near enough kill you so shoot the boxes to take them out or you could try and get a enemy to hit one of them instead if you needed? ;)

Once you've blown up all of the launchers you will have passed the mission and saved Capital City from another disaster until the next mission that is...

  1. Grand Theft Astro - This one is quite simple, get to the space centre and stop the rocket from taking off by taking out it's components before time runs out. Once again be careful of your cars' health as you'll encounter a lot of enemies (Both on the road and airbourne) trying to kill you and stop you from taking out the rocket so drive like hell and get there as quick as you can. Once you arrive you'll need to take out the AA guns which is stopping Lucy from picking you up, take out the Warlords and those AA guns and she'll pick you up which brings me onto the final part. In the final part of this mission you'll need to take out the rocket's components to stop it from destroying Capital City for good, you should be able to get this first try however be sure to take out any gang members too as they'll take you down should you not kill them and if all goes well you'll have stopped the rocket and thus passed the mission.

  2. Runaway Train - Time to stop the Syndicate once and for all, get to the train station and take out as many enemies as you can along the way but hurry as there's a time limit. Once you reach the station you'll need to get to the front of the train as fast as you can to stop Pincher and his goons from getting away with lots of the city's money. Take out all the enemies and be careful of low objects when you're on the roof of the train as they'll hit you and potentially kill you so be careful!

At various points in this mission whilst you are on the train you'll need to take down the Syndicates' helicopters from taking the money out of the train, blast them down in the grenade launcher but hurry as if they get too far then it's game over. Once you've got as far as you can you'll face off against Fincher, take out his guns and he'll come out of hiding and once he's exposed fire like crazy to kill him and end this thing but be careful of his rockets as he can easily kill you with those. It's also useful to have a lot of justice saved up for recovering your health during this mission as you can easily die at any point thanks to the enemies and boss fight. Once you've killed Fincher you'll have stopped the Syndicate gang for good and it's onto the Warlords or is it?

  1. No Mercy - Ok so a new gang is in town and is attacking your Pursuit Force buddy, keep the gang off him and get to the Golden Gate bridge in one piece. Once you've gotten to the bridge you'll need to kill any gang members that show up as well as any helicopters that show too, both of these will not only be attacking you but also a rescue helicopter that shows up to rescue civilians too so I hope you're a good shot. Again keep an eye on your vehicle's health as if that depletes enough you'll fail this segment completely, use your justice as and when you need it to recover health. After the rescue helicopter has picked up all of the civilians you'll have passed the mission.

  2. Dam Busters - This mission can be very tricky as not only will you need to be quick and take down the gang's boats before you get to the dam you'll need to stay alive too and due to the gang's weapons being powerful a good approach would be to take cover as much as possible and be quick on the kills so they don't get a chance to kill you. Once you get to the dam you'll need to snipe 16 enemies from the helicopter (Again this part might take a bit of getting used to as if you don't shoot enough then you'll fail the mission) and stop them from taking over the dam, should you get passed this part you'll be dropped off near the generators on the dam and will need to defend the area from incoming attacks by this new gang. Ideally you'll want to try and kill enemies as soon as they appear or when they are being lowered by the helicopters, once you've successfully defended the area from the gang you'll move onto another difficult part of the mission which is stopping missiles from hitting the dam and taking down the gang's boats. In the final part you'll want to destroy all of the missiles in rapid succession to get a multiplier bonus for each one and fill up your justice bar to the max (This will become more apparent in a second) and now we are ready for the final shooting segment of this mission: Sinking the gang's boats!

Ok so you'll want to take down the first three boats as quick as possible (Again this is another part where if you don't sink all of the boats you'll fail the mission) by shooting them, once you move onto the next set of boats you'll want to unleash your special attack (Press O to shoot justice rockets which automatically destroy all enemies on screen, you can only do this if you have a full Justice bar) and when this has been done destroy the final 4 boats to successfully stop the gang and pass the mission.

  1. Death from Above! - Ok so it's time to take The General and his Warlord army for good, follow the Warlords and take them out when you get near the Military Base but be quick as you're against the clock and distance until the plane takes off!

Once you've taken out the Warlord gang vehicles, you'll need to destroy the rear gun on the back of the plane so put your foot down and destroy it. Once this has been done you'll board the plane and from here you'll need to fight your way around the plane, destroying each engine and wing you can and forcing The General to fight you himself. When the general is exposed and fights you open fire with everything you've got but be careful as his rockets can easily kill you just as easily, the ideal strategy to this one is keep your reticule on him and fire until you get near the fully overheat stage for the minigun and then let it cool down and fire again until you get near the overheat stage. Rince and repeat and The General and the Warlords will be history and you'll pass the mission and finish Act IV.

  • Act V

Ok so this is the hardest part of the game and can be very cruel on you if you're not careful, so get ready to take on the Viper Squad and end their regime of terror on Capital City!

  1. Separation of Power - Catch up to the President's car and keep him alive until backup arrives, once backup arrives take down Ashley and the weapons of her chopper. Should you do this you'll get a unique boss fight which is hand to hand combat via button presses, be careful of the button presses as you'll only get a few seconds to press the buttons so be quick and take out Ashley but she has a chance to kill you first. When Ashley has been dealt with you'll have passed the mission and can focus your efforts on what the Viper squad are doing at the water plant.

  2. Viper's Venom - This one is simple at first but gets tougher towards the end, take down the Viper vehicles before they get to the treatment plant. Once you get to the plant it's another sniping section where you need to take out all of the Viper gang members and make sure none of them get to any of the water containment tanks, should you pass this you'll get onto the final part of this mission which is by far the hardest. Get to the Pumping Station downstream from where you were and keep ahead of the contamination which is chasing you there, you need to make sure you stay alive and don't fall back into the contamination otherwise it'll kill you and that's game over. Ideally you'll want to stick to the same boat throughout and keep recharging it's health with kills that you can rack up by destroying other Viper boats and gang members, if you can't manage this then hijack onto one of the Viper boats chasing you and get to the Treatment Plant before they destroy you. If you get there in one piece and ahead of the contamination then you'll have successfully completed the mission.

  3. Critical Condition - This mission has four phases, the first part is to capture the chief's ambulance from the Viper Squad and by now this should be easy to do however the second part is a lot more difficult. The second part of this mission involves you getting to the hospital in time whilst making sure the chief's heart rate doesn't go too high as if it does then he will die, to avoid getting his heart rate too high make sure you don't go too fast over jumps or hit any objects on the road. Make sure to kill any Viper vehicles as soon as they show and don't stop shooting as otherwise things will become much tougher than what they already are.

The third part of this mission involves you killing 30 gang members, this should be easy however if you do struggle you can use the Justice Rockets (As mentioned before) to kill a lot more very easily. Kill enough of them and you'll move onto the final part of this mission which is another sniping section from a moving helicopter, make sure your shots are a lot more accurate here as you'll need to kill the enemies quickly before they enter the hospital as if they enter it then you'll have failed the mission so keep on your toes! Should you kill enough enemies on the roof then you'll have passed one of the hardest missions in this game, and now to stop Commander Decker and the Viper Squad themselves.

  1. An eye for an eye - Truth be told you should have an easier time on this mission if you take out the guns that show after destroying one of the electrical field devices on the Viper HQ vehicle, if you're struggling then I'd advise taking out the Viper vehicles located on the highway as they are constantly firing rockets at your helicopter whilst all this is going on. Once you've done this plant 8 charges around the HQ, taking cover as you fight enemies in between setting charges and when this is done you'll face off against Decker himself. Decker likes to move around a lot so you'll have a hard time hitting him however slow and steady wins the race with this one as if you take out his rockets and fire at him you'll be able to recover health should he hit you. Once you've taken him down you'll move onto his second phase: 1 v 1 Car Combat which involves you constantly ramming him to take down his health, once you've taken off all his health jump on his car and you'll have beat the mission and Pursuit Force: Extreme Justice! :D
