I Found a Glitch

I haven't seen this glitch on the internet before, so wanted to report it here. Sadly I can't upload any footage of it, but I will try my best to explain how it works and what it does.

I recommend going to godhome, to the very right where the "lake" of "soul-juice" is. You need to inventory drop from the short plattform where the mummy sits and close the inventory right before hitting the water to start sinking. Let the knight sink to about half way down, then hug the wall to the left and charge up a C-Dash. While in state of a charged up C-Dash, do a short jump and tap right, still holding your C-Dash button. Charge up a Cyclone Slash. Start spinning and pressing the attack button multiple times to spin longer and hold left. During your spin (right after you start spinning), release the C-Dash. The Knight should stay in position where he landed in the water after spinning. Now jump out of the water to the short platform.

What this glitch does, is that it gives you the ability to move during almost any kind of action.

You can move:

  • while healing

  • during any spell

  • while charging up a C-Dash or, if you quickly change the direction you are holding, during the C- Dash itself

  • during textboxes

There is also some strange things with wallclimbing, and your dash is shortened. This works on version 1.4.3.2, but not on 1.5.78, since you can not sink in the water on that patch.

The glitch does not carry over to loading zones, but is still active after benching.

a couple of things:

you can get under the water on any patch using transition storage and dashmaster. i couldn't get this to work in godhome, but i did get it to work outside of king's station, at the bottom of the room.

this sounded like inventory storage or transition storage to me at first glance, so i opened up the game and it did actually work for me. some nuances on how to get it:

  • i could only get this to work using transition storage: this shouldn't affect anything about this glitch, but specifically with the two other ways i know how to get under the water (dream nail dropping and inventory dropping into that water) it left me in a weird falling state that wouldn't give me control back.
  • for this to work, the nail art must start during the cdash, but end after the cdash ends. you can do this by starting a cdash and then holding any direction constantly, then starting the nail art (cyclone in this instance works well) and then letting go of left while still mashing nail to extend the nail art.

anyway, here's a video of me getting it and messing around with it. as far as i can tell, this is actually a new glitch, but i don't think it'll have any practical uses. i couldn't verify the text storage thing as it goes away upon room transitions, and i could only get it to work in king's station.

an explanation of what i think is happening here:

  • by exiting the water here, you somehow carry the properties of a swimming character outside of water. this is based on the fact that your movement is really slow (similar to the speed of a swimming knight) but once you lose it you gain normal speed again
  • the reason why your dash is shortened is because (i assume) in water you are unable to dash, and therefore the dash gets normalized to zero velocity, or something like that
  • the same thing happens with walljumping, you probably don't move far away enough from the wall with swim speed so the game just re-clings to the same wall
  • i have no idea why you have control during cdashing and healing. you can't normally heal under the water, but i'm assuming this is some hybrid state.

if this were to be given a technical name, it'd probably be called something like hybrid swim state or swim momentum storage

here are some more notes/theories on how/why this might function.

i think that the reason why this happens is probably something to do with the fact that by entering the water and sinking to the bottom, the swimming state doesn't properly initialize. for that reason, you can jump while doing a cdash to sort of touch the top of the water, which properly initializes the swimming state, but while you're charging a cdash. then by having a nail art active while the cdash ends, you're able to then fully bring the swimming state out of the water.

anyway any glitch wizards that i didn't chat to while researching this can feel free to call me out on my theories and why things might work differently.

Hello, it turns out you can get this state very easily by cancelling a cyclone slash and then keep mashing nail, example video of me cancelling it with inventory storage, but could be done off of boss screams or by using water like you found

The glitch seems very broken, so maybe there will be some practical usage found. You can easily get wall cling storage with it, and there is even a fast way of doing the glitch now (as seen in the video above). I hope my thread helped in some way, but not every new glitch is helpful. Thanks for responding!
