Double Steering (DS) Tutorial

How to do Double Steering (DS) in NFS Underground:
1. Have a racing wheel + a wheel rotation of around 180°
2. In the game options have manual transmission activated, and stability control on
3. Map your wheel as the primary steering input, and one button on your wheel as the secondary steering input
4. Drive into the corner with the wheel turned in at around 50° and then tap the secondary steering input
5. If it worked your car will start to drift
6. To get out of the drift, reduce the steering angle of your wheel

How to do Double Tapping (Keyboard Drift) in NFS Underground:
1. In the game options have stability control off
2. Drive into the corner with your keyboard normally
3. Then you need to tap buttons in the following specific order: Tap the gas, tap the brake, and double tap the steering
4. If it worked out correctly, and the timing was right, your car will start to drift

My take on the correct way to quickly progress through career

1. First car should be the Peugeot 206:
It is faster in Sprints and Circuits then Mazda for the first races (it does loose a second in Drifts and Drag, but wins more in Sprints and Circuits)
2. When you reach the 7th race (TJ 1st unique upgrade), do not skip it, drive it and get the Engine upgrade:
This is the one step I'm still not sure about - To get back the time spend in this race, you would need to win back ~1sec every 2.8 minutes of the remaining ~4h 40min of career left to break even, and I think that with this upgrade you are winning back even more.
3. You have to reach specific visual upgrade Stars rating before some of the tournaments - it is possible to do visual upgrades only twice in the whole career:
First time is getting 2-star rating before race 10
Second time is getting 4-star rating before race 66
4. You should switch from Peugeot 206 to Mazda Miata after getting the T1/3 performance parts (before 16th race):
It becomes harder to handle Peugeot after the T1/3 upgrades, car is to quick with not enough handling to dodge the traffic.
5. RX-7, although is faster, does not have enough handling to dodge the crazy traffic:
if there was no traffic, it would be better to use it as soon as its unlocked, but the traffic negates all the RX-7 advantages (this is one point that, based on mudda's run, should be changed, but I have not yet tried this again to make a conclusion)

You need to play the full campaign: all 112 events, no skips. 
With these 2 cheat codes you get all lvl 1+2 upgrades early which speed up the mid to early game by a lot! 
You still need to install performance parts level 1 first!
