So, as some of you may be aware, there was previously a voting thread to vote for super mods and regular mods. Since then the community has come to the decision to change the rules of the voting a little bit. So let's lay this out.
First we'll start with the roles of mods and super mods. Mods are people who will be approving/disapproving runs. These are people to look up to in the community and should be experienced and active in the community. Above that are super mods. These people do everything that mods do, but will also be looked at to settle 50/50 disputes on topics (such as [EMU] and S+Q) and also have the ability to add/remove new mods and add super mods.
This thread will be used to decide who new super mods will be and who new mods will be as well. There are currently two inactive mods, Veman3000 and Linkus7. These two will be removed and there will be room for two new moderators.
To surmise, we are going to use this thread to vote for ONE super mod and TWO new mods. These people can come from any part of the community and do not have to currently be mods.
Rules:
- You can vote for one super mod and two regular mods in your post.
- You do not have to vote for the maximum in each category, but you cannot vote for more than the maximum obviously.
- You CANNOT vote for yourself.
- You CANNOT vote for the same person for both categories.
- You must give reasoning behind your votes.
- If a person gets votes for super mod and does not get elected, those votes will be reverted to regular mod votes in addition to any other regular mod votes they might already have.
- Play nice, don't take any decisions or opinions personally.
This thread will be open until Saturday, April 9 at 11:59 PM EST.
I look forward to seeing everyone's input, and I'll put a final tally after all is said and done. The top two votes for each category will be put into the new position.
EDIT: As you can see, the originators of the idea of this thread have decided that one super mod should suffice to fill out this issues of the community if they were to arise. Please adjust your posts accordingly to fit the vote for only one super mod and two regular mods. If a post isn't edited, it will be assumed that your first choice on the super mod vote is your vote. Sorry about the confusion.
Super Mods
-
GC4Ever4001 - GC's done a lot to help out the Community. He helps settle disputes in a calm, nice and peaceful way. He prevents drama from starting and overall deserves the spot.
-
Smoof - Smoof's been around the longest and deserves super mod. He knows what goes on in the Community and has more knowledge of the game than anybody.
-
JaredsGiantz - Jared was formerly a super mod, but got his status taken away along with all of the super mods at the time. He has the experience to be a super mod, and he's been in that position of authority before, so I think he deserves it.
Regular Mods
-
MastahBobby - Bobby is a very skilled runner that has been running this game for a long time, he deleted his USB times a while back to insure that it got banned, and he would handle having mod in a very mature way.
-
OfficialGlitchDoctor - Nick is very skilled at this game, as he's not very active in the Community like he was, he still checks the leaderboards very often, making him a good candidate for mod.
Super Mod Votes:
- TheOfficialSkozzy - Needless to say, him and I share many opinions and ideas for the community together. He's not afraid to speak his mind and views things in a logistical and unbiased manner. He truly his someone I trust wholeheartedly and someone that I always talk to about any issue that has been brought up before I make a post.
Regular mod votes:
-
Nimbus - Very active within the community, always in chats and always ready to help the next guy. Doesn't get mad if something doesn't go his way, and has been a big contributor to issues within the past couple of weeks.
-
Javi (Gameit_ES) - Truly a nice guy. Very active, runs almost every day, and takes part in the leaderboard discussions as well. An active member like Javi would be perfect to be a mod.
Supermod votes: Gc- Reasonable, responsible
Normal mod votes: Nimbus- Intelligent, reasonable DeathJohnson- Has an unrivaled understanding of several categories, very intelligent and reasonable guy
Super:
JaredsGiantz - Been around for a long time. Still active. Keeps current on what runners are active. Extensive knowledge of the game and the game's history
HDlaxbm - Same reason as above.
GC4ever4001 - Already said enough about why he should be mod.
Reg:
Skooz - He's a mini GC
Sirnimbus - Never met anyone more fair than Nimbus. Shares good thoughts, hears thoughts, probably the most active community member even if he doesn't run the most. He breaths LM.
Super mods: GC4ever4001- he's a leader, in just a month he's helped peacefully reslove a few disputes. He's very active in the community, very knowledgeable of the game, and overall is a good person to look up to
Mods: Sirnimbus: he's very active in the community, I always see him in chat when people are doing runs, and I believe he will do a great job as a mod
Theofficialskozzy- he is super knowledgeable with the game, has been very inviting into the community, he's been around for a long time, isn't afraid to speak his mind, and overall has a lot of respect from me
No more changes pls
Javi I like the idea, but this isn't exactly running for office as much. This is more moderating and fixing the leaderboards, creating a team if that makes sense. I will say however, that whether I'm a super mod, regular mod, or no mod, the next issue I'm bringing up is PAL runs. There needs to be set rules on that nonsense. But we'll save that for another day :D
Super Mods Sarcrai-old school runner who many such as I respect as a runner a lot.
Mods GC-has been one of the most vocal people in the community while being reasonable and logical Skozzy- A key runner who has helped developed the speedrun to what it is today
Mods Nimbus - fair guy, nice, and very active and great at the game Officialglitchdoctor - same as above
@Mastahbobby (and future voters) Don't vote for me please. I'm on my way out of LM and want to see mods that will actually put the time into maintaining the leaderboards. Obviously if I removed my own mod I don't want or expect people to give me mod back.
Super Mod.
- GC - No question here at all. GC is one of the, if not, the best member of this community. He is very open to discussions and the opinions of others, takes charge, is very reasonable and friendly, and he is extremely active. I believe he is the perfect fit for the position and he has earned every bit of it.
Regular Mods.
-
Skozzy - He stands up there with GC with how big of an impact he has made on the community. Very reasonable, fair, up for discussions that involve the entire community and he isn't afraid to speak his mind at all. If he sees something he believes is wrong he WILL say something about it and that is a very good trait. He'll do good things.
-
Death - He's a pretty fair guy, extremely knowledgeable on the game, smart, reasonable and very active within the community and gives his thoughts out well without stepping on anyone else's toes.
For super mods I feel like GC and Skozzy can do well, and Sarcrai seems to be another favorite. As for regular mods, I still feel like I could be a good mod but I don't appear to be a popular vote as of now. I'd also nominate Death but other than that the standing of the mod list is ok to me
Super Mod:
JaredsGiantz - Very skilled, good friend, one of the OG runners iirc. No reason why he shouldn't be super mod. HDlaxbm - Another friend, this guy comes out of nowhere and gets insane times. Put him up with the super mods. Smoof - Another OG runner, sure his activity in the game and community may fluctuate, but yeah, like I said above, put him up there.
Regular Mods:
Nimbus - Cool guy, has handled with situations in the community before. Plus he comes into my chat a lot, so here you go. Mastahbobby - Good friend, coming back into the LM scene soon. He's played through this game for quite some time, around the time I started iirc.
There, I shared my input.
Supermods:
None, we don't need supermods. Nobody should have to feel like they're not getting supermod because they aren't good enough at the game, or people don't think they're responsible enough to handle it. Everyone should stay regular mod, because the only thing a supermod can do that a regular mod can't is supermod others and remove mods, which can be handled much better if there is a community discussion and we take it to speedrun.com officials to unmod whoever should be unmodded.
As far as adding new mods, I say GC, because he's responsible and mature enough to the point where I trust him to not do anything dumb... That's all I have to say.
Super Mod:
Smoof: He's a well experienced veteran that knows how to keep a level head in situations. He also was the one that taught me how to play the game to it's fullest potential, and in my book he should be recognized for that.
Tozino: He's done it before and I see no reason why he shouldn't have it back. He deserves it.
I've decided not to vote for a 3rd super mod due to not seeing anyone that truly stands out to me without being blatently biased to one specific person. Please do not take this the wrong way.
Regular Mods:
Purpleghostkasper: A truly calming person that deserves to have a shot being mod. I feel that she could do great things to help usher in the new generation of LM runners.
A2Rhombus: A very relaxing person with the knowledge and talent to boot. His knowledge and personality would be a great help to making this community as great as it was in 2014 and 2015. I believe that he would also be a great help with ushering in the new generation of runners.
