New acount runs - Login bonus stacking (get an express pass convienently)

For new account runs, an express pass is pretty much crucial for a successful run, as the benefits it provides cut down the time a lot and make for a more engaging run. However, previously users had to always start their runs just before the daily reset, as the express pass is a 2nd-day login bonus. But with this new method that is no longer an issue.

**__How it works:__**
The game assigns you a login bonus as long as you have a created account, and connect to the server,
Due to the fact the game will always restart the tutorial if you don't complete it, and the timer of the run doesn't start until the tutorial begins, you can effectively stack 2 or even more login bonuses on top of each other for your new account run. This allows you to get the express pass at any point during the day instead of having to start just before the daily reset.

**__How to perform:__**
1. Start the game on a new account
2. Create an account name and start the game
3. Play until this point then quit the game.

Every time you repeat step 3 on a new day you will get a new login bonus.
Now, this means you can stack login bonuses indefinitely, which would of course be overkill and not much fun. So the maximum amount that you are allowed to claim is the first 10 days of **New Player** login bonuses.
This is because, for the first 10 days, new players will always receive the exact same login bonuses. After that it will be random.

Keep in mind you can only claim these specific login bonuses, you can't claim any sort of event login bonuses that are part of an ongoing event, or any login bonuses after the 10th day.

However, there is an exception to this. If event login rewards are the same as rewards later on in the new player login bonuses you can still claim those. Let's say a special login reward is the vampire decal, but you only saved up for 5 days. You can still claim the vampire decal, even though it itself is on the 10th day.

Setting up LiveSplit(,a detailed timer) for LET IT DIE speedruns.

LiveSplit is the most used timer tool speedrunners use to time their runs. There are a lot of different options for making splits and customizing the layout.

If you are new to the speedrunning scene and don't know how to use or set up LiveSplit, then here are some things to get you started. First, all of the things you need are in the ↪[resources](https://www.speedrun.com/letitdie/resources).

There's a link to the LiveSplit website where you can download Livesplit. It's just a zip file. So place it somewhere on your pc where you don't lose it. 

Then you will need splits. Splits are basically the checkpoints in your timer. So whenever you kill a boss you can 'split' and there will be a timestamp. This is useful for when you do multiple runs. That way you can track if you are ahead of your personal best, or other peoples times. Luckily, all splits have been pre-made and can also be found under the resources. Just click on the splits you need for your category and the file will download automatically. Once that is done you can simply open the file and then you are basically done.

The last thing you will need to do is enabling the hotkeys to split. Since LET IT DIE doesn't have an auto-splitter, you will have to do it manually.
Right-click your splits and then choose ''Settings''. Here you can choose what hotkeys to use. The most important one is the one at the top: ''Start / Split''. This is the key you will use to start the timer and 'split' when you reach and mark a checkpoint during the run. Also, make sure Global hotkeys is checked (✓). This allows you to split while in-game.

Once this is done, there's an optional choice to edit your layout. Here you can add a background picture, change colors or fonts and stuff like that. But this is of course not required. To do so right-click your splits again and choose ''Edit Layout'', followed by ''Layout settings''

Now that you are all done setting up LiveSplit, all you need to do is start recording. Have fun Senpai!

Tips for speed and stamina preservation.

There are a lot of things you can do in LET IT DIE to preserve stamina and gain speed. This guide aims to give you tips on what kind of things you can do to improve your speed and preserve your stamina. These are mostly aimed at the categories where an existing account is used.

# Cutting corners and clever jumping
Although LiD endgame tilesets are RNG, there are always ways to cut corners. There are a few places where you can save just a few seconds of time by simply jumping in a precise way. These can be tricky, and some are harder than others. But please take a look at the following examples.

This jump is from the 16F Kaga layout. And one of the easier ones. The trick with this jump, as is with many of these jumps is that the collision detection in LiD can be questionable sometimes. And things seem to have bigger collision detection then they should. However, if you pull this jump off it saves you about 3 seconds instead off going around the hole.

Heres another good example of one of these jumps. This time from the 21F Akami layout. This is one of the hardest, if not the hardest jump to pull off. However, it eliminates the time wasted of either running all the way around the hole, jumping to the lower platform next to it and then climbing back on again, or simply destroying the box. The reason this is so hard is that because not only do you have to jump around the box. there's also the added height. This means you can't jump your full distance you are essentially jumping onto an elevated area. Pulling this jump of is truly great and will save about 6 seconds.

These kind of jumps are everywhere, you just have to keep your eyes open and wager in the risk according to your skill level and the situation at hand. They might not save a ton of time, but they can add up in the duration of the run.

Then there is one more thing that needs to be taken in when traversing the tower. Whenever you run off a ledge, your horizontal momentum is decreased and upon landing the fighter somehow ''brakes'', making you lose all horizontal momentum.
Now, this can easily be avoided by jumping, since jumping doesn't decrease your horizontal momentum. However, if you jump from too high, there will also be an animation where your character does the same ''brake'' or if you would jump from even higher you would take fall damage and lose even more time. The key to figuring out this balance comes with practice. Always try to jump off a ledge instead of running off it. And see for yourself what the best approaches are for each ledge in the game. Especially the ledges in the Candle Wolf and M.I.L.K. area can be tricky.

# Skill decals
The biggest asset you have are the games skill decals. As these can eliminate stamina consumption entirely. obtaining some of these can be hard. But if you have been playing Let It Die for a while then you should already have some of these decals.

Stamina consumption is divided into 3 groups. There is stamina consumption for using weapons, dodging and for sprinting.

Stamina consumption for weapons can not be reduced with decals. But it's still worth noting. Stamina consumption for this group can only be reduced by leveling up the mastery of the weapon in question.

Then there is dodging and sprinting. These can both be reduced with the use of decals, although they are always reduced separately from one another and can not be decreased with 1 decal with the exception of Spy, and some banned event decals.

Last but certainly not least there are the decals that reveal the map. These are super useful as they allow you to check the map to see where the potential escalators up are, to give you a sense of direction.

Tip: Most of the time you will want to use sprinter decals combined with map reveal decals.

# Rage moves
Rage moves are one of the staples of LET IT DIE. But did you know that rage moves don't consume any stamina at all? not only is this useful, but there are 3 weapons that have rage moves that move the player around. and can be a great asset.

All of these 3 weapons have a rage move that moves the player around.
The plus side about this is that you can kill enemies while still in motion, as well as recoverin a bit of stamina in the meantime. This is especially useful in the postgame categories, where you often have to kill enemies to progress to the next floor.

As you can see, the timber rebellion is the widest weapon. So you can more easily touch enemies to hit them with the rage. The downside is is that this rage move is rather short-lived and doesn't take you very far.

The Motor Psycho is arguably the best option. It's not as fast as the Mortal Bobsled nor does it last as long, but it makes up for it in rage move costs.

The Mortal Bobsled is definitely the fastest and takes you very far, but its rage move costs 3 rage, which can be hard to use consistently.
