So looking at the rules for Half-Life 2 and other Source games, I think the GTA speedrunning community is horribly old fashioned and we need to change that.
Back when the concept of WASD cheats was figured out, I think it was tuplanolla who ran a simulation of 100 million WASD key presses and the discovery was there's many different cheats (possibly in the triple digit numbers) that can be activated using only WASD.
Currently, WASD cheats are banned, but seeing as how Source / GoldSource legitimized the use of console commands in runs a couple of months ago, I think GTA should follow in their footsteps.
Now of course, we cant go and allow any and every cheat. They're still cheats. But with the accidental nature of WASD cheats, I think they should not only be allowed, but also utilized for maximum efficiency. For example: I think using DDDDDDDAAAAAADWD should be allowed when its raining, and AAAADADSAWADAW should be allowed for when you quickly need a vehicle (First Date comes to mind). These are just some examples, Im sure people can come up with others, as long as it only uses the WASD keys and nothing else. (Or if you're using ESDF, only those keys, or IJKL, or whichever keys you use for movement.)
Yes, agreed with all of it. It also happened to me before, that after failing Tanker Commander I punched my keyboard and accidentally typed HESOYAM. Will that be allowed with this change?
I agree with your point. Stop the esdf meme, though, please. Just don't use a layout that has a cheat triggered by pretty much mashing a, then d, then three other wasd buttons. It is optimal in the negative direction.
Use Azerty/Dvorak left. They suck way less. If you use WASD, don't complain if you cheat. Just think of all the runs you have wasted because you did not switch layouts.
No. Cheats should never be used unless you create a separate category for it.
lolno

In other news, the IFAB has modified 'Law 12 - Fouls and Misconduct' to allow any and all actions of 'handling the ball'. This includes: ¤blocking with the hand(s) or arm(s) ¤carrying with the hand(s) or arm(s) ¤throwing with the hand(s) or arm(s)
My opinion will probably go ignored because I have never ran the game but I agree with Ewil. If you're going to legitimize cheats now, that means all of the people that have posted good times and no longer run the game (Ceilingfridge comes to mind) would be "getting robbed" in a sense. Plus, the point of speedrunning is to finish the game as fast as possible, and the leaderboards show that you did it faster than anyone else. If you can now do that with cheats, that to me seems to defeat the point.
The idea sounds good, but if you're going to do it then you should start a new leaderboard. Thank you for taking the time to read this.
After the response I got from the game glitching out and putting in a cheat itself I vote no.
The GTA:SA community has been deteriorating over a long period of time. Many top runners are not currently present on the leaderboard. This issue has not been seriously addressed yet, but an attempt will be made to remedy it now.
As of this news post, the San Andreas leaderboard will function in
