Capping FPS guide (PC ONLY)

- in this game, you need to cap your FPS to perform a certain glitch in ACT-3
- to cap your fps you need an external software for that I use bandicam it works offline, and it's very easy and simple to setup and use you can download it from this [Link](https://www.bandicam.com/downloads/)
- when you press the link and enter the site, press download bandicam👇

- after you download it and install it and run it, you'll see this 👇

- Press on the controller icon👇 and a new option called (FPS) will appear then press on it

- Activate all of these and choose your desired hotkey 👇

- Then press on Video and Image and deactivate their hotkeys so you don't accidentally record/capture your game using bandicam unless you want to, of course

- Finally when you're playing your game the FPS will show up at the corner that you chose 👇 and when you press the hotkey bandicam will cap your fps and when you press it again it will uncap it, Good luck on your future runs.

Change the Field of View (FOV) (PC ONLY)

1. Change settings files.
- Go to <path-to-game>\WarGame\Config
- Open WarCamera.ini
- Find [WarfareGame.WarCameraMode_Default]
- You'll find "FOVAngle=<#>". Change the # to your desired Value of the FOV you want.

2. Through the console
- Open the console "~"
- Enter this code: (set WarfareGame.WarCameraMode FOVAngle <#>) without the (). Change the # to your desired Value of the FOV you want.

3. The FOV for zooming can be changed in the "WarWeapon.ini" file, and denotes the "WarWeapon[Casual/Hardcore/Insane].ini", Each gun must be changed individually.

Console Commands

- Capital Letters don't matter

### Change FOV
set WarfareGame.WarCameraMode FOVAngle <#>

### Show FPS
stat FPS

### Uncap FPS
set Engine.GameEngine bSmoothFrameRate FALSE

How to configure AutoSplitter (PC ONLY)

- The AutoSplitter can be downloaded from the [resources](https://www.speedrun.com/gow1/resources) or in LiveSplit itself by writing one of these names in the "Edit Splits" tab

- *These Problems Below were in the AutoSplitter, but they all Have Been Solved at long last:*

1. In the "Burnt Rubber" part (The part where you drive a car with a lot of Krylls chasing you) the timer won't stop if you pause the game, so don't pause there at all to avoid Time-loss! The reason why it doesn't stop there specifically is because the AutoSplitter is configured to pause when it doesn't read the character's position but at that part you play as a car and the character doesn't exist so it doesn't read the player's position, so I had to remove the option from that part specifically.

2. The Last split on killing RAAM sometimes works perfectly, sometimes splits if you die in that part, sometimes doesn't work entirely. Just keep your Global Hotkeys activated

3. The "After Restarting Checkpoint" Option used for Coop runs allow you to wait for the 2nd player to join without having to reset the timer manually, but it only works for the 1st level because I originally designed it for full-game runs so you can only use for Full-game or ACT-1 IL **Only**

How to display information on LiveSplit during the run

- 1stly You need to download a plugin for Livesplit called [ASL Var Viewer](https://github.com/hawkerm/LiveSplit.ASLVarViewer/releases)

- After that, extract it and copy the DLL file into LiveSplit>components

- Then open LiveSplit>Edit Layout>+>information>ASL Var Viewer

- Then right click on it and this window should pop up (just remember that you have to load the AutoSplitter and startup the game before adding the ASL Var Viewer)

- Now in the (Value Label) write any name that you want as long as you can remember what it means, then in the (Value:) press on the "down arrow" and choose the Variable that you wanna display (for this game specifically You only want (PHP/COG/RAAM) and they display this information:
- PHP: Player's Health Value, which is 301
- COG: The number of COGs collected, which is X/33
- RAAM: RAAM's health Value, which is 3500 however it won't appear until RAAM appears on-screen

NOTE: if you need to display more than one thing, You need to add the ASL Var Viewer as many times as the information you want to display

Skip intro videos (PC ONLY)

- So this game on PC has some annoying/unskippable intro videos at startup, this guide will allow you to get rid of them

1. Go to <path-to-game>\WarGame\Movies
2. Delete or rename these files:

- **EpicLogo.bik**
- **ESRB.bik**
- **ESRB_chi.bik**
- **ESRB_kor.bik**
- **MGSLogo.bik**
:)

- That's it

- Yeah after you Rename/Delete the video files the game won't find them and therefore skip them
- faster startup = faster play = faster speedrun

- Explanation of the skip: you grab a Troika/Turret gun to shoot a seeder you can turn your back against the edge and fall through skipping the (Killing the seeder, Long talk with Anya, All enemies that spawn above the parking lot and the wretches that spawn downstairs).

Toggle aim down sights (PC ONLY)

### Scroll down to the last sentence before reading anything
1. Launch the game at least once and configure the controls.
2. Go to "\Documents\My Games\Gears of War for Windows\WarGame\Config"
3. Open "WarInput.ini"
4. Go to [WarfareGame.WarPlayerInput] section.
5. Find this line:
Bindings=(Name="Game_Target",Command="ButtonPress L2 | OnRelease ButtonRelease L2",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False)
6. Replace it with this:
Bindings=(Name="Game_Target",Command="ButtonPress L2 | SetBind RightMouseButton Game_TargetOff",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False)
7. now add/write this under the line you replaced.
Bindings=(Name="Game_TargetOff",Command="ButtonRelease L2 | SetBind RightMouseButton Game_Target",Control=False,Shift=False,Alt=False)
8. Save the file.

- If intending to use a different button, replace **RightMouseButton** with an alternative keybind.
