Yu-Gi-Oh! Legacy of the Duelist -Link Evolution- 100%
5 years ago

I'm going to be running Legacy of the Duelist -Link Evolution- 100% (story decks). There is no category for this, and it is my first speed run. It's looking to be as long as 60 hours, so I'd like to get my bearing before starting. This is how I'd classify 100%.

-Story mode completed -Reverse duels completed -All challenge duels won -All cards obtained

Since I'll be doing story decks only, I'll use only the story decks for both the story duels and reverse duels.

How do I make a new category for a game?

Is there a limit for how long a run can be? This could end up being over 60 hours easily.

I'll be streaming the entire run and taking donations for charity throughout the event. Is that a violation of any unwritten rule?

The console and my hands need to be in frame at all times, right? If I step away from the console for a restroom break, will that be an issue? For such a long stream, obviously there are needs to be met.

I believe the Guinness world record has a ridiculous (in my opinion) sleep clause that allows for an accumulation of 10 minutes to sleep every hour played for gaming records. I don't plan on doing any of that, but if I take a 30 minute break to recoup, what needs to remain on screen?

The mods of the LB can create the category for you, most wont create one without a run first (which you’re doing so that’s good).

As for all your other questions, here’s the answers:

  • no, there is no limit on how long a category can be.
  • what you do on stream in regards to donations has no bearing on a run’s acceptance to the LBs.
  • no, your hands and the console do not need to be in any video.
  • if you take a bathroom break or step away from the game or sleep, just leave the timer running for the whole time (if you’re using RTA timing that is).
  • if you sleep, it’s up to you what you leave idling on the game feed or if you even keep the stream up (see above about the timer if you’re using RTA).
  • who cares what Guinness says about anything, this isn’t Guinness.

Additionally, you might want to discuss things with the existing community for the game. They can help figure out rules or anything else like that.
