After discussion with runners and other moderators, the following updates have been made to the rules:

  • For all newly submitted top 4 runs - no matter for the Full-game or IL leaderboard - the video must include the complete in-game background music and sound effects, and not obscure any important game elements (such as the growth bar in the top left, the score display in the top right, or the remaining time at the bottom).

  • Change the current timing endpoint from "Stage Clear bubble fully displayed" to the more recognizable "appearance of the results screen". Existing runs will not be reranked, but 1-2 seconds will be added to their times. If you still use Autosplitter in Livesplit, please set the starting time to 0 instead of -2.20.

Here's the timing method in the future:

  • For Full-game leaderboard records: considering that the Full-game leaderboard rarely has two runs with very close times, the priority order in my opinion will be: Autosplitter > Frame-by-frame timing. Runs timed with Autosplitter should be submitted according to the time displayed in Livesplit, and runs without Autosplitter should be retimed frame-by-frame. If in the future, two runs are extremely close in time, we will then retime them using frame-by-frame timing to determine the ranking.

  • For the Individual Level leaderboard: Since there are frequently two runs with extremely close time margins between them on this leaderboard, all IL runs will use frame-by-frame timing exclusively. Even if Autosplitter supports IL timing, its results will only serve as a reference.

To know more about the latest starting point and endpoint for frame-by-frame timing, refer to:

Retiming Tools:

The update of leaderboard will be completed in 1 month.

The level warping glitch is now banned as it cannot be reproduced reliably.

Based on our poll results and negotiations between moderators/runners, we have decided to ban the use of level warping glitch on the category of PC Any%. Level warping refers to the technique of spamming left clicks on the "Continue" button after finishing a level. After our tests, we have found out that this is not a glitch that can be reliably reproduced (affected by poor game performances and the use of autoclickers).

The first video about this glitch (by Radmozis):

Reproducing the glitch on 1.0 (by UDUC):

Version 5.7 with an autoclicker:

To prevent accidentally triggering this glitch in your runs: please avoid left clicking too much on the finish screen, and in case of doubt, we advise you to check if your level is the same as displayed in LiveSplit with autosplitter.

PS. Please note that it is still allowed to take advantage of the death mechanics to finish some bonus levels faster - we are not banning it here.

Ok so recently, a new speedrunner named Radmozis discovered a glitch in which allow runners to skip numerous amounts of levels by spamming left click to the continue button after finishing a level. However, moderators and several runners found it as inconsistent to different versions of Feeding Frenzy game version and its not easy to replicate therefore, we make a Poll to BAN the glitch or ADD it as a new category. The poll votes can only be voted from Feeding Frenzy runners. Therefore, here is the result.
