So I made a load remover for Arma....
Austria

Title says it all, it stops the timer not only when you load something but it also stops it when you open the menu, I hope with this more people on the lower end of PC specs get into running ArmA.

Currently I need more testing on different machines to see if anything breaks.

Quick follow up, here you can see the difference with the loads removed:

I got Arma installed on a NVME SSD and even then there is a good 4 minute difference (this was a cursed run) so I'd like to know what everyone thinks about it.

It's been a while since I was active here but I've made a major improvement to the load remover, It now reads directly from the main .exe memory address to detect if the game is loading. This removes the questionable pausing of the timer in the escape menu and should hopefully survive updates to the game. It now also only stops the timer if the game is loading a mission or actively saving. Hopefully this will help make full runs a little more attractive by removing the random time loss due to loading.

Any additional testing would be much appreciated since I only tested this on 2 machines.

Thank you so much for continuing to support that tool, it'll be brilliant for all-round fair running, in Arma above many other games I've played using a remover. I will test it for myself when I'm next at home, and make a news post + resources page if all's well. You're welcome to create a resource tab for it on this page, of course!

Hi there!

I'm Dan, frequent speedrunners of this game won't have heard of me because I've only done a couple of Arma runs before ':D, if you're on the Discord server, you'll likely know that 23Banzaj is resigning from (most if not all of) their sr.c mod positions, and I've offered to take up Arma 3
