My opinion is to change basement rules to timer stops once you pull the 4th lever to activate MrHippo, cuz after that, you get pace-locked (you cant speed it up, the time will be the same to everyone), and you have a big chance to die during that, so its frustrating you get a good run, then you get pace locked by hippo and you die to foxy when ur close to exit.
Just a reminder. If you, moderators, plan to add that to basement, then you have to make a rule as well to timer starts, i suggest timer starts once someone start moving after instructions screen, and timer ends once the E prompt of the 4th lever is pressed (or when objective says 4/4 levers pulled)
I think that's kinda silly.. considering the fact that people often have to be weary of chica or foxy chasing them while escorting Mr. Hippo to the elevator which can increase time. (from them running to the nearest locker and waiting for the animatronic go away.)
if u mean u agreed with my suggestion, yeah its pretty bad to the rest of the run counts, even being pace lock, and being possible to get less time, even die
so it just counts cuz u can lose time?, but thats exactly what im saying, it shouldnt count cuz u cant speed it up, just keep same time or lose time (basically a "i think it shouldnt be like that")
imagine someone getting a 7 minute pace (pull 4th lever around 7 minutes) then he gotta wait more 2 minutes that he cant speed it up (pace-lock) cuz mr hippo, then when hes getting out of the middle, chica kill him, he lost an crazy run cuz a pace-locked part that "doesnt make sense" to be in there
okay but what's the point of shaving off the 2 minutes? like I don't understand the fuss of having those two extra minutes there.
lets say theoretically the rules changed from making it to the elevator, to just pulling the 4th lever and 2 minutes was removed off of everyone's run time, the places would still be the same.
world record currently is 10m 9s so if you remove 2 minutes it'll just go down to 8m 9s, and second place's time is 11m 19s and it'll just go down to 9m 19s still keeping him in second. I don't understand what the point of removing mr hippo's section is.
considering that it is literally a mandatory part of the game, in order to finish the game, you are just saying, lets make it so a speedrun finishes by not finishing the game... it is a game feature, just live with it
and if someone loses a "crazy run" because they die it's on them, on the way to the elevator the game provides you with I believe 4 nearby lockers you can run to, with 2 of them being directly on the path to the elevator.
(also the in-game counter counts his entire section soo.. the devs put his section in for a reason.)
im not saying that you HAVE to not count hippo, its just a suggestion
its not cuz something exist in the game that speedrunning NEEDS to count it, specially pace locked ones. i believe that theres speedrunning games where the speedrun time finishes before the game really finishes, everyone is allowed to make their rules, my opinion/suggestion is to not count hippo part cuz in my head doesnt have a lot of sense to be in a speedrun since its pace-locked (its like fnaf, u cant speedrun cuz its pace-locked, or u just die, but fnaf is pace-locked the entire game), but if u dont wanna change the rules cuz u dont have the same opinion as me then it ok
but it is not pacelocked, and also FNAF is actually speedrunnable, there are strategies apparently to save time apart from not dying.
mr hippo is pace locked, in the meaning of you cant speedrun it, or speed it up. either u keep in a locked time or you die
the only fnaf game that is speedrunnable is security breach, cuz the others is about wait a set amount of time to beat the night
pretty sure security breach has a couple of pace locks and they're all counted, I highly doubt Mr Hippo is going to be removed man it just doesn't make sense on why he'd be removed
security do have pace-locks, but theyre not in the last part of the run, and now that i know u guys opinions i also doubt he will be removed but im just explaining why i think it makes sense
just search up five nights at freddys on this site and you will see it is speedrunnable
It's already written in the rules, but just to inform everyone, SHOW ALL POV's.
That means that if you are running with multiple people, they also record!!!
