The issues Around the start of this year we discovered a pretty big issue related to the updated versions of the Slippi Emulator. Certain levels in Classic mode had messed up spawn locations to where characters would spawn in the middle of the stage or even in the blastzone beating the stage in 00.00 seconds. We in the mod team have now decided to ban the usage of the Slippi Emulator.

Full Game runs This does sadly mean that a lot of our full game emulator runs will have to be removed and we apologize to the people who put in the work for such long and tedious categories. Tho we do truly believe that banning the Slippi emulator in the long run will make competition better for those categories as they were pretty much essential for WR attempts with the faster loading times.

Classic mode This discovery has seemed to be a big issue in the Classic Mode section of speedruns and we will be removing all instances of runs where the Slippi emulator messes with spawn locations or gains any advantage from a regular Dolphin emulator run. This does mean that if a Classic mode run was ran on Slippi dolphin but it only affected load times and had no timesave or affect on the In Game Time of the run. We most likely will have that run stay on the leaderboard.

Ending notes Although Slippi emulators are banned. We might still verify runs that were ran on Slippi emulator that doesn't affect the In Game Time in categories like Classic Mode, Adventure mode, All Star, etc. Tho i would highly recommend that people stop using Slippi Emulator as a whole when submitting runs going forward. Issues that affect speedruns can appear more often with Slippi being actively worked on so we don't know in the future what can happen to speedruns. We do again apologize to all those affected by this but we hope you understand our decision. If we find a solution that fixes the issues we have with Slippi Emulator in the future. We might reconsider this ban. But until then we don't have much of a choice

Hello everyone. It has come to our attention that Slippi emulator has added a few bugs with how it handles spawn locations and other coding oddities. Thing like CPUs spawning in odd places where they can be stuck in the ground. Simply spawn in the middle of the stage, inside eachother or even in the blastzone where the stage instantly finishes.

We are currently looking into how we should fix this without removing a lot of runs that just so happen to be ran on Slippi emulator. Sadly some runs could be removed or rejected if it's in verification queue because of this and we highly apologize to those who might be effected by something like this.

We highly recommend that any emulator run be ran on any other legal emulator but the Slippi launcher for the moment until we find a solution.

Feel free to leave a comment or DM me on SRC or my Discord if you have any questions or concerns. We highly appreciate any feedback we can get.

There has been a few changes to the (All Characters) and (All Characters + stages) categories.

First, we now have a requirement to have there either be no memory card or having a freshly made memory card (Need video proof of it being created) to make sure that the vs matches are at 0.

Secondly, we now have separate variables to if you are playing on Emulator or Console so these runs will be separated. Reason why is because Emulator loads matches way faster than Console does. So categories that are timed with Real Time will see a huge time difference in load times.
