Hi, Im Maunaloa and am hoping to back into one of my favorite childhood games! Alas my old PS1 and disc are lost to time and cant play with that. I noticed that you guys allow emulators to speedrun. To the people that do what control scheme do you run, since id imagine it to be much more difficult with a mouse and keyboard. Do you guys use gaming controllers hooked up to the computer. If so which ones?

You can use any controller you can think of, as long as you can connect it to your computer. Whenever I have run on emulator, I've either used a PS4 controller or a PS1 controller connected by a USB adapter.

Basically what Walkers said. A lot of people who run on emulator either use an Xbox 360 controller which works natively with Windows so it's super easy to set up, or you can get PS2 to USB adaptors on ebay for a couple of dollars to plug PS controllers into your computer.

Recommend using epsxe 2.0. It's slightly more updated than 1.9.25, and has faster loads than the others.
