Recently the idea of allowing Direct3D 9 EX mod was brought up in the Discord server (which you can read more about and download here: https://gamebanana.com/gamefiles/11596 ), along with the idea of allowing a code that will let the player reconnect his controller in case it was turned off without need to quit the game and reenter it (you can enable it via Hedgehog mod manager, the full name of the code is "Controller Hotplugging Support") Until this point we do not allow any mods at all, but given that this mod and code doesn't change neither the game's view nor its physics we're considering allowing them So far the mods were tested by myself, Cybersonicstarzx655 and Frokenok, and for all of us it either seemed to improve the game's performance or just not making it worse, while no physic/graphic changes were noticed So at this forum, please write your thoughts about whether it should be allowed or not allowed with your explanation, and if you can please try those mods yourself too and write your opinion about them, and most importantly, report in case the mod happens to give a different results at any aspect from the original game
From my point of view, if the mod only seems to improve the game's performance and not alter the in-game physics in anyway, than I don't see why game mods like this one (any maybe the windowed mod) can't be used.
Also, im interested what kind of controller that everyone uses (i'm using an Xbox One Controller/windows 10) because i don't seem to experience the controller turn off very little to none at all
SADX comunnity does something similar, and like you said, if it doesn't change the game physch itself, i dont see why not allow it. Im ok with it
To conclude this discussion, we ended up deciding to allow the usage of the following mod and code, and only those. Using any other mods will result with a rejection as have been done until now. Have fun!
Hey folks,
This announcement thread is for those who only look at the site and aren't in the Sonic discord.
Sonic X Shadow Generations will have 2 different leaderboards, given how different the Sonic part looks from the original, there is now a new Sonic Generations board just for this game.
