Anyone else having an issue where it takes forever to get a run verified? I used ti uave a run verified in a few days but now im coming up on a week of waiting.

You are not the only one with this issue.

The mods will get to you in enough time. They are not paid to sit around to verify runs 24/7. I'd like to think most of these folks have 9-5 jobs or so, as well as funner things to do than sit around at their computer to check to see if a run is legitimate or not.

Roopert has stated he would rather spend his time doing something like playing with his dog over sitting at his computer all day. (I tried to find the forum with him saying this but I couldn't find it, I'll prolly add it later)

Anyways, bottom line: just wait. Then, if it's been a couple weeks, wait longer. Eventually the moderators will get to your run and verify it. And if they don't verify it for a long time, so be it. These people have lives of their own so they don't always have time to check the submissions.

I have a 8-4 IL from mid February that still hasnt been verified LUL

A week really isn't that long for a run to be verified. I've waited longer, and honestly, it's not a big deal. There IS a known issue, and there have been talks of adding verifiers, hit those people need to be able to detect false runs, be able to retime properly, and at the end of the day be trustworthy. I DO however feel like whenever the issue is brought up, a mod says they're looking for people like that, that they sort of just end up not. I mean, it doesn't take 8 months to find that.

Eddiecatgaming is very good at timing the runs. He should be a mod already.

On 8-4 IL I have waited an entire month and still no response

On 8-4 IL you have to use Sockfolder's rom hack, instead of a standard timer.

8-4 ILs would be verified a lot faster, if - especially emu runners - bothered to follow the rules and make it possible to determine the exact time. You can't get a frame-accurate time from a 30fps video (or even 60fps really) and frames do matter it a run that short. If emu runners simply checked "Show framecount" on their emulator or recorded an emulator movie, it would be much easier to time them. In RT_1's case I guess you can convert it to the right framecount with the stuff provided by the practice rom, but nobody has done so yet. In Nolmy's case there is just nothing. The submission says eddie timed it, but how? By checking the video time and rounding to the closest possible time?

And we honestly do need more active moderators, but since we discuss those things with each other in advance nowadays, our decision-making has slowed down a lot. Hopefully we can add more soon.

My 8-4 ILs were verified in under a week and I used Sockfolder rom

Related question; Since video is not required for runs above 5:21 in Any%, there's no point in actually verifying videos of those runs is there? Would I have a better chance of getting my crappy runs confirmed quicker if I just left out the video, so mods wouldn't feel compelled to actually watch my run? Asking, since I noticed a videoless run got verified instantly yesterday.

Would be same speed, and ALWAYS video > no video

@paintophobia But then mods don't have to spend time watching your video, and seeing if it's legit, so it would make sense if it got verified instantly, it should be faster if you don't post video

Would be 10 minutes longer to verify. And besides, if video doesn't matter, why spend time looking at the video? At least with video there's actual proof that you acheived the time, so you can say to people "I got x.xx" and there's actually some basis behind it. By your own logic it would take the same amount of time.

An idea just went through my head as I was practicing some 3x3 solves.

Like a "verifier for a week" program. Where a selected runner gets a job as a verifier for a week (or less time) so the other moderators can see if said person is trustworthy.

But, this is but a mere suggestion, so the moderators do not have to listen to this, I just thought it'd be an interesting concept.

Just Wait Patiently, this game is not some Obscure Super Famicom Game or some Unknown and super long Japan only PS1 RPG that would take who knows how long to be verified. It's an active game with very dedicated people moderating it, so rest assured that there will always be hope to get a run verified within a perfectly reasonable amount of time. Regardless of how long you've been waiting.
