Is Bat Jump a glitch?

So I'm wanted to ask about the bay skip in Eruga's Forest, think that's a glitch?

I could see: "yes, it's not intended gameplay"

But I can also see, "no, bay jumping was designed in the PRG-0 version, and all you're doing is manipulating an enemy position."

What y'all think?

It is an exploit and therefore I would say it's a bug. If it was deemed to much of an exploit that it needed to be patched out (a rare occurrence for the time) then I would say it is a glitch.

Everyone I know of plays PRG0 so you can jump off of bats. Not sure why that ability was removed in later versions. It seems as a community we’ve decided jumping off bats is a good thing and the forest bat skip is possible because of it so I wouldn’t call it a glitch.

I bounce off a bat in my glitchless run. It wasnt the bat bounce in the forest though...

I guess looking back at it the idea that bat bouncing can be almost unavoidable at times in PRG0 maybe it would have to be considered fair play.

And I believe it was removed because there are many spots where you can skip sections as well as accessing out of bounds areas but there are a lot more obvious ways to do that so I think a better question would be "why is that all they changed?"

Yeah, the fact you can bounce is not a glitch. That was intended but removed later for some reason (probably because of what joe said OOB etc). Or to just be more dangerous and in the water area and forest. But using the fact you can bounce to skip sections isn't intended and doesn't work on glitchless. However that only affects one run apparently (damageless glitchless) atm. So bounce to your hearts content otherwise. Unless that somehow manages a wrong warp in no wrong warp :P

They never did update the JP version to take away the fact you can bounce. (which is a much simpler way of doing that version vs finding a prg0, well it was when I was looking anyway)
