Not much action in the V2 speedrun community as of late. Is this still being moderated and maintained? :)
Was looking at some of the current listed speedruns under glitchless. And some of these runs are unbeatable (more or less), as they use, well 'glichless' routes that has been long patched and are unavailable (removed, invisible walls and so on) now. Example on Empires in flames, you used to be able to skip the underground with handmaiden, by a short series of jumps, this has been patched, not sure when, but it certainly has been patched. Just as an example.
I'm not trying to call someone out or anything, it's just that unbeatable records tend to draw less challengers, and I think we could do with more challengers around here? :)
You're right it looks like that did get patched, I'll go try beat my time. Thanks for letting me know.
As for runs being maintained, it's kinda difficult for the mod team to keep up with patches and if stuff that's been patched is present in each run, given the length of the runs, not that I'm part of the mod team, but I'd suggest runs being maintained is done on a when case by case basis when it's brought up to the mods attention?
I'd be happy to elaborate on the current state of the board.
Vermintide 2 is quite unique in the aspect that many core elements which influence speedrunning are frequently changing. Maps, career talents, weapon balancing, etc are the largest offenders.
Since the board isn't categorized by major version differences, these changes have compounded into a source of frustration where many records are now unobtainable and the enjoyability of the hobby as a whole has decreased. One of the most recent patches that went overboard with wall placements is responsible for the example you've provided (empire in flames).
these discrepancies have existed since before I became head admin. I plan on categorizing the board by major versions when the next expansion - Chaos Wastes - is released. This should provide a much-needed clean slate while preserving the history of legacy runs.
