Update on the "not pausing during loading" thing; If you right click in livesplit and tell it to use GameTime instead of RealTime, it will indeed pause. Something I had overlooked and don't see a way to force it in the asl file.
Thanks for getting this started TheFuncannon!
I tried to add on to actually split for each level, but would love some feed back to see if it works for everyone else.

I did notice that this wasn't pausing during the load times (with the original or mine with various attempts) so plan on looking at that a little more so for now it's RTA.
Sounds like Bethany from Antibirth :)
If that's the case Cyber_1, then you should just clear Mega Satan, because he drops a chest now as well. So you can "Beat The Chest and enter the chest that drops after the boss" according to the rules. Get a curse of the lost? Easy, just clear Mega Satan. The problem with the way the rules are worded right now allows for this because Afterbirth+ introduced the chest drop into Mega Satan fight as long as you have achievements enabled.
I still see this as a valid run because you satisfied all requirements for the run and didn't react in the couple of seconds when it happens.
Allowing a reset on Eden (and nothing more) seems like a simple QoL thing. Since we're just starting fresh now is the best time to get the consensus in to whether you can or can't. The biggest issue here is that I don't have a way of making this on a Mac or Linux, so unless someone else can do that, I don't know how to proceed.
Jud6s+ quick someone make it.

Okay, let's ban BM clip now too along with all over clips and glitches, thanks.
@yamayamadingdong Zam's Rebirth run was almost 5 months ago, but this thread started 3 months ago and I believe this is the 2nd time Zam's attempted doing this for Afterbirth. And from the reply it seems like he was indeed referencing Afterbirth not Rebirth. I still see the Rebirth one so I'm unsure why you assumed he was talking about Rebirth. Plus this is the Afterbirth forum.
The hacked file being the 1001% file. Not resetting on Eden. No one except Zam has used it I believe. Possibly Dea1h.
Why are you assuming it's valid? Because a consensus hasn't been finished? This post is premature and doesn't serve to help. Pretty much the only person saying it's valid from what I read was Zamiell, which obviously makes sense.
This should be an invalid run for the category Zamiell submitted to. At most the only thing that should be allowed would be holding R, to bypass the block on Eden due to requiring tokens, when doing a single char run. Since the a lot of people already use the hacked file I created for Afterbirth, the reasoning behind the block becomes moot (my assumption). However changing other factors in the game, like reset speed, and automating the stopping of a script/tool takes this too far. For instance while racing, we do not allow a tool that lets us stop holding R when a pedestal item shows up in a room we might want, and then reset/roll it by accident. This could easily be avoided with something someone writes. My reasoning for only allowing it on 1char is that all legacy multi-char do not have this and in that case it would be unfair to allow it on those no matter what. If you're only goal is to grind out a 1char WR you'll be sitting around for hours waiting for a good combo which sounds horrific to me and why Zamiell did this in the first place, because it's boring and terrible.
My vote is to ONLY allow the original intention of what I gave out to be allowed for 1char Eden, and anything added on to automate/facilitate the run invalidates it. That is, removing the block on Eden's holding R.
Looks like he started the run at ~1 minute on the timer (timer started on Undefined, but didn't reset when he picked up Epic) so he retimed it. I didn't retime the entire thing but I would assume BrainTM's retiming is probably correct.
Unsure if you're actually serious about this to be honest since you've not been one to joke.
If that was the case, then why was BrainTM able to get #1 a bunch of times while not using it? Don't actually answer that. This thread is still pointless as there is already a thread where we talked about it.
This was already discussed in the other thread, that's the reason this isn't needed, but I'll explain anyway. Co-op babies introduce a 2nd player mechanic into the game. Replacing greed and bypassing a barrier does not. Those are glitches. This is a 2nd player mechanic that is used for a single player mode. If you can't see the difference there is no point in arguing about it.
Using co-op babies is not a glitch(to either steal a deal or to deal damage). The compromise was made in the discussion thread and it was agreed to by all that were for and against it. I honestly don't see the point of this thread either.
Resets are dependent on PC. If your CPU is slow, the RNG mechanisms that are required to create the seed and generate layouts etc are going to generate slower. I doubt playing off SSD/HDD at this point is an issue since Isaac itself loads everything into memory at boot. You can attempt to analyze CPU/Memory while resetting. I know a couple of people had played around with some settings to make the game speed up/slow down but I don't remember the settings. If resets are the only issue you're seeing, then it's more than likely due to the CPU power needed to generate all relevant things at the start of a run. Do you notice that your game also doesn't start as fast from the character select screen? I doubt there is much that can be done if that is slow.
On a side note, Tyrone had mentioned that one of the reasons the PS4/Wii U/3DS doesn't have a reset mechanic was due to the processing power needed that the consoles didn't have, so they excluded it.
And my fault for making myself more clear. Language barriers are hard sometimes. Still working on my Russian :)
There actually is a way to create a virtual joystick and bind the keys needed to a keyboard control, so not having a controller is negated by this. The utility is free and available to anyone on windows.
I've always advocated for showing the seed via item tracker. There have been arguments against me that using the item tracker is using a 3rd party program, so in light of that, you'll have to show the seed at some point during the run. I still advocate for using the tracker itself.
The "advantage" you gain was that you could see the items before you start the run, though the new item HUD allows for the same thing. Then it was stated that it shows stats. However this is a configurable field which can be removed to ONLY show the seed, therefore negating this argument.
In the end, my vote is for forcing the seed to be shown in some way, with the preferable method being the item tracker with no stat tracking, however I see no issues with the stat tracking and think it's fine.
