Just to ask, is there a video in question showing this glitch specifically?
Very interesting way of taking the record and I like how you did it, was a oversight in the rules as it leaves the door open to this way of playing for other categories going forward but as you said it allows times to be even quicker now if you know what cars to use and when.
Nice run, fancy being a mod for the Forza games with me? :)
So since the game has 3 cups can we have individual categories for those cups? I like the idea of the Any% but smaller categories is always a good idea to have in a game like this.
Maybe have a variable to do all races or just the main races (I'm not sure what to call them but basically one skips the side events and the other one does them as well as the normal races if that makes sense?)
As was recently discovered by PassionWagon from the Destruction Derby 2 boards, please read the following information if you are going to be running on emulator for the PS1 version of this game:
"There's inconsistencies between the older and current (2024) versions of Duckstation as of writing this, which causes the load times of modern duckstation to be slower than the older versions. But the gist of the currently acceptable settings is this: + Clockspeed 130%(44.03MHz) + 8 sector runahead + 2x read speed + Instant seek speedup
This is to get the emulation load times as close to PS2 with fast disk enabled as possible."
Following this you should be running on the latest version of DuckStation (As of 08.10.2024 it is Version 0.1-7663-g08bdffac6)
@HighPriest Just so you are aware you didn't just break site rules but also DPA rules as well so realistically you're in the wrong. Also when you come back and beat me with some times with actual proof then I'll let off "slightly" so good luck with that. Bye.
Also @YUMmy_Bacon5 if I may add a crucial problem I have with the original poster, he switched out links on the community pages for our game in order to collect people's information which is against many rules. He was stupid enough to brag as you can see from the image below.
Good day, Let me just start by saying the reason I have removed VOD's (Not just his) was due to no VOD and in my view (No VOD - No Proof) so the fact that I'm getting called out for this is quite comical.
The main reason this guy was kicked from our community was due to some bad comments made about others and all he ever did was complain about stuff whether it was someone couldn't install a game and needed help (He proceeded to say that had the IQ level of 1 - Basically saying they were dumb) or the fact that he wasn't helpful in any way. He proceeded to say that Speedrunning is a business (Something that is debateable wherever you go) and that because I had beat his WR time in one particular game got very upset because he couldn't do it on stage like he hoped he could a day later.
The guy was nothing but trouble and is not welcome in our community so has been banned for his childish antics (Something that has continued in other communities too) and I hope he learns by his mistakes. He is still banned from both our community and our events to this day due to the fact that he hasn't changed and this forum post amongst other videos proves that (See below)
The first level doesn't really prove much other than the console being slower (Something that will happen) but instead the levels where the game involves a lot of moving such as the Snow-Ski or the final level where you have to go around the plane. These are the main ones I was referring to.
I've managed to add individual chapter categories as well as a 100% category if anyone is brave enough to try it (Although seems like the 2 runs that did the Any% also did the 100% category in one go)
The levels might take a while to add as there is over 100+ of these so give me time and I should be able to do it. @Nexls @RSxCloud
In terms of the settings I used when running DH2, here they are: https://postimg.cc/gallery/SMWF6GP
So when looking over the Evolution Mode runs I've found that there seems to be different starting points for different runners so could we have some consistency in where the timer actually starts rather than just guesswork? Thanks.
I knew someone would come along one day and beat my run, much better movement and interesting seeing the damage abuse tech. Nice to see you got the Kolbich skip too and as for the Dogma skip, this is tied to how fast you can get the down the left passage once you dash through it. If you do this fast enough you manage to skip the entire section and are able to drop down to the bottom like we do. It's not too hard to learn but it usually helps with staying on the left side so you can immediately dash and jump to not trigger the interaction with the hands hence why they stay there.
