Pennsylvania, USAI'm actually currently playing through it again. I'm not speedrunning it right now but i was rushing through the parts I know. It seems to run great but i've only played it for a little bit. I'm also playing the physical copy. not sure if there would be a difference between the downloaded version to the physical cart.

Actually this makes me happy to see people are finally trying to really improve this game and all the categories. I really really hope someone makes a guide for Kraid Iceless because I as well would love to learn it. Specially since as of typing this the route I was running for 2-boss is completely obsolete now haha.
I agree, 2-boss is definitely a good place to start and Yogi's tutorial is very good. It's how I learned to play 2-boss and is honestly my favorite thing to run at least atm since I'm trying to improve the times for 2-boss. As of right now MetroidMcFly is currently the only one who really knows how to do Kraid iceless and is actively running that route that I've seen. I'm not on twitch much so I could be wrong. I won't lie to you though Metroid isn't easy for sure. I'm 73 and a half hours in after a few months and over 1000 attemps and I've still only finished four runs of the game. It's fun but frustrating. I can't say much for other categories yet.

I'd like to know what a lot of you out there use to record your old systems for use with OBS. best card, cheapest card? I'd just like some options since I'm new to this. my only run is of Metroid so far and that was on Emulator which is also an option depending on the game.
I kinda figured, judging from the leaderboards. But I've always loved this game and I'm looking for some other games to get into learning in between my grinding for Metroid 2 boss run. But if you learn the game and help me out that would be awesome! haha

Usually the pattern I get in the Ball room is usually the opposite where the ball moves away from the door and doesn't hit me as I come in and then usually in the long corridor as you would normally follow the three balls to the end I usually have to take a hit as three of them will be coming to the right and dodge at least 4-5 single ones coming from the right. That's usually what gets me and I usually end up dying in that room. I also always get the squeept that jumps the highest. I'm not really sure what I'm doing wrong lol.
Yeah, I've been kinda just watching Yogi's tutorial over and over as well as his 18 min run just to see what works best and to learn. I think maybe my mistake has been practicing on the NES Mini maybe? I've tested it on emulator with powering on as well and i still seem to get bad patterns. I usually get to the ball room around 7 mins give or take. Then I usually get bad pattern in ball room which usually always goes really badly and the room before Ridley I usually take a hit and die.
Hello there, I just started learning 2 boss and I seem to have everything down untill I get to the ball room in which I always get bad pattern and I'm not entirely sure why. I also never seem to be set up for good pattern on Ridley either. Help would be greatly appreciated.
