Hard mode contains Maximum GP, a GP exclusive to this difficulty that appears after the race on Airport Oval.
Technically, the only way to 100% the game is to play it on hard, so it makes sense to only record Grand Prix completions on hard since Maximum GP is the “true” ending to the game.
Plus, hard mode makes the run more interesting since the races are more challenging, especially in the Ultimate GP. Easy and normal don’t require as much skill to win and are shorter.
With the load times of the game and the length of each race, doing a 100% run of this game would take an obnoxiously long time. Probably longer than runs like 180 emblems in Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, a run that lasts about 9-10 hours, especially if we were to include 99 lap trial and grinding the laps to unlock Pac-Man. No one would be able to complete this run in one sitting.
That’s ok. I’m sorry I didn’t say anything earlier, because I was so focused on the grind and I didn’t think it would end that quick, but it is what it is.
Ok, I can’t message you because of how Discord handles messages, so I have to tell you here that the clan tryout was poorly structured.
Let’s see:
I spent 10 hours on the first day of Black Armory to do all of my weekly bounties that brought me to 611, from 600, and did the forge. I sent friend requests to several clan members, including you ExBlack, but were never accepted. Thus, unable to play with the others. I openly stated in the application that I was a senior college student and from the US, but still got a tryout period anyway despite many of the members being EU.
I’m not angry that I wasn’t accepted, that’s fine because I think I’d rather run solo content, but the whole process was very weird. Like I did not get a time frame which the tryouts were supposed to last, nor did I know that a number of players were from the EU. The only thing I didn’t like was the last DM you sent me where you said I “have the lack of experience.” If you meant my Destiny experience, well that’s ok, because I know I’m not the best, but if it’s my speedrunning experience as a whole, that’s just false because I’ve showed you some of my background like my run at Dreamhack.
Regardless, I’d suggest that you make the process more clear, because it was not as I expected. Just for future reference. Anyway, good luck and that world’s first attempt was really fun to watch. You did great.
I noticed that the rules state that the run must not be tool-assisted, but I use RazerSynapse to set my DPI levels on my mouse in addition to the in-game settings. So does this mean that any run I do submit is immediately disqualified since I’m using a tool?
