Currently I'm taking a step back from speedrunning. Not stopping but just doing it less commonly. I wanted to do something else that doesn't feel entirely useless.

For all the years I dreamed of being talented at drawing but always said to myself "You suck, you will never be good, don't even try". 2 weeks ago I bought myself a graphics tablet and started drawing various cartoon stuff and I REALLY do enjoy it. Even more than gaming at the moment. I'm still not good but I already get better and it's quite a motivation to keep going.

What are your hobbies / talents? Do you have similar experiences with something else?

I'm currently watching lots of cartoons of all kinds but especially ones with a good ongoing story. There aren't too many out there as far as I'm aware of. Finished Gravity Falls which is truly exceptional and Star vs The Forces Of Evil, which is a little more silly but also keeps a solid plot.

Are there any others you can recommend? (No anime please lol)

After sending back both Elgato and LGP because they just don't work as I want them to, I stumbled across the GV-USB2. Most I heard about it was very positive. People also say that it also doesn't suffer from the blackscreen issue while recording PS1 games on PS2.

Anybody here with one? Let me know if it's worth picking up, thanks.

Ayo fellow people. I decided to get rid of my Elgato soon since it's just too buggy. Sometimes I need 30 minutes to get it running. Before the Elgato I tried the Avermedia LGP, but for whatever reason it didn't record my PS2 games smoothly.

Need some recommendations for a good capture card that can record PS1 games on PS2 (can't do that on Elgato) and preferably HD support as well. Below 150€ please.

Heya, after multiple requests I made a short video where I explain what we know so far about the McGee skip. So far it's not possible to skip him yet, but Vaati and me got quite some information together, which might help in future researches.

What are your most feared skips in speedgames? For me it's the Bentley skip in Sly 1 where you need to rely on rng to hop over a trigger to skip a level. This skip is at the very end of the game and if you fail him, your run is pretty much over.

I've been on this site for quite a while but never came to actually introduce myself. Name goes after Oddy, 17 years (almost 18) and did my first run 2 years ago just for fun (Oddworld Stranger's Wrath). After a very long time I've got back into running and enjoy it now more than I ever did. I mainly run my favorite Playstation games from my childhood such as Sly, Midnight Club... soon starting to run bigger games like Crash Twinsanity, Ape Escape, Spyro and Oddworld.

What I love about the speedrun community is the unique maturity which you won't find anywhere else, as well as the challenge to compete in your old favorite games which normally nobody talks about anymore. Even though I own a PS4, I kinda took distance from modern games as I find the older ones way more enjoyable,

Yo, maybe some of you know the problem. I use a Game Capture HD and would like to record PS1 games on my PS2. Thing is, it doesnt work. On my PS1 I can record without problems. I know it has something to do with PS1's native resolutions on PS2 which the capture card somehow doesn't handle. Now my question is, how do I fix it? I've read about some converters and upscalers which might help but I'd like to know how you guys deal with it.

I'm looking for a pretty cheap yet good mic (below 50€). I know for this price you cannot expect supreme quality but I honestly also don't do that. I just want a decent mic which doesn't sound like a squeeker in GTA Online. Also no background sounds haha.

Hey there, I noticed that some games really deserve more appreciation in terms of running and I thought why not introduce one of these games.

So yeah, I'll start. Oddworld Stranger's Wrath is an exciting mix between FPS and Adventure Game and was released in 2005 exclusively for the Xbox, later released for PS3, Vita, PC and Mobile. It's a really fun and unique game with cool speedrunning aspects. A good mix between skips, skill and routing, makes the game so fun to run. As just said it's really underrated in all matters and should definitely get more attention among runners. Hope you will find some interest into it ;)
