Hi everyone! So I’m relatively new to SRC. So I was looking rules for the forums, are there any? I’m just curious if there’s anything about refraining from inappropriate language or prohibiting bullying, etc? Are there rules that state if you make a bad suggestion, you can get banned or give someone bad advise? Also, if someone is banned, is it made public? Is there some sort of announcement where people would know? I bring this up as it relates to CriscoWild. Now, granted, I know there’s is controversy surrounding him especially as it relates to our favorite Blue Bomber, and you may agree with his suggestions or not. I’m not hear to argue that point. I guess my question is, this, if you respond to a forum post giving bad advise (nothing vulgar, nothing inappropriate, not bullying) but just rather a bad idea, i.e. suggesting to contact a mod by phone, is that grounds for a ban? Was this really done in the interest of SRC and “protecting the community” from the “cancerous” CriscoWild, or was it done because some folks may not like him? Maybe I don’t know all the details, but from the outside looking in, it sure looks like this ban, actually is bullying, itself. I mean, Crisco doesn’t appear to be a big streamer, I’m sure his ban isn’t blowing up twitter feeds. So I find it curious? How does someone in Crisco’s twitch chat just come in, with a screen name just one digit off another known Mega Man speedrunner, happen to come in and have knowledge of Crisco’s ban? Was this shared with people? Advertised? I mean, I could never accuse a mod here of making a fake name to come in and tell Crisco just to hear his reaction, I can’t imagine that would happen as I have to assume mods are chosen with integrity. So how did this happen just moments after? There just seems to be something off about this.... maybe a dumb response? Maybe a joke? I don’t know, no clue, but doesn’t seem to be sever enough to warrant a ban. Combine that with the way he was told of it by a “random” person in chat.... I guess I just have concerns now. I don’t want to get banned! So yeah, are there rules out there that are posted that I can follow to ensure the same doesn’t happen to me? If a person can be banned just because someone feels like it or someone doesn’t like you, that’s kind of a scary thing. I mean, freaking Chambers has an unbanned account.... I guess, for you sports fans, the comparison feels a little like Ray Rice being suspended for 2 games for domestic abuse while Tom Brady got suspended 4 games and fined for some supposed deflated footballs.....
