As most of you may already know, Anti was suspected of cheating in his VC runs since late August 28th 2017. On August 8th 2018, it was decided to held a private discussion to call him out and require him to present proof that the evidence against him were false or to make a confession.
Once called out on his cheating he decided to make a public confession that he shared on the #gta-vc channel of our GTA Speedrunning discord. https://pastebin.com/CntETjkB
Once he confessed, he was unmodded from GTA III, VC, SA and VCS and all his cheated VC runs have been removed for the leaderboards, here's the list of all the cheated non-IL runs: Any% - 8:26 No SSU - 50:54 - 51:02 - 51:19 AM - 2:11:16 - 2:11:36 - 2:14:05 - 2:16:42 100% - 4:45:53 - 4:50:36 - 5:07:35 - 5:09:31 - 5:19:37 Packages - 29:09 Robberies - 6:43 USJs -28:07 - 40:49
Then VC mods as well as III and VCS mods (games where anti had runs) held a discussion and decided on a ruling which is the following:
-
Every legit runs (not cheated) will stay on the leaderboards (all of his GTA III and VCS runs as well as all VC runs prior to August 28th 2017)
-
Anti will be suspended for 1 year from submitting runs for the leaderboard on speedrun.com in any games of the Grand Theft Auto series (game list on https://www.speedrun.com/gta), suspension starting on August 9th 2018 and ending on August 8th 2019 included
Hey everyone, very recently both Ingame 100% for GTA3 and Vice City were removed from speedrun.com by Mhmd_FVC without concerting with other mods.
After some discussing on IRC, it was decided that categories shouldn't get removed like that and that there should be a consensus about its removal. This is why i'm making this thread so people voice there opinion on the subject.
Please make your opinion clear by voting:
- I want Ingame 100% NG+ to stay on the leaderboard as a misc.
- I don't care, i don't particularly want it to be removed
- I want Ingame 100% NG+ to be removed
Feel free to explain your stance and give arguments here, but keep in mind this thread is only Ingame 100% runs so talks about other categories have no place here (like Kingdom Come/Trevor%/Classic%/ILs ...)

The tournament will start on Friday August 21st 2015 with a group stage.

hey everyone, As you may already know, the Vice City any% scene is kinda dead. The required cop car spawn at the start of the japanese version and the fact that the run has become so optimised that it became painful to grind, have caused most runners to quit once they reach a time they were aiming for and only a couple of runners are left running the game and they most likely will quit as soon as they get a slightly better PB.
A side effect of that is the game is barely ever raced nowadays, compared to like a year ago before all the replay strats have discovered ( ffzyesDuping ) where the game was raced almost daily if not more.
Most of you probably ignored this, but I like RPG speedruns and is most of the time learning one until i give up because i'm lazy. Since the beginning of July I'm participating in a 65 player Final Fantasy 4 Paladin% (~1h long race category) speedrunning tournament (Some of them are FF4 runners, some are other RPG runners and a lot of them haven't really speedran a RPG before) The tournament is composed of the group stage (13 groups of 5 runners, groups are seeded to have runners of all skip level, every runners run against each other 1vs1 so 4 races in total, one race every week), the 13 winners of each groups progress to the next stage which is 16 runner Double Elimination bracket. the 2nd place of each groups will race in a single race for the remaining 3 spots. This race as well as Winner Finals, Loser Finals, and Grand Finals are restreamed on the community channel. Since early July there have been more than one hundred FF4 races (both tournament and "practice" races) compared to basically no race ever before the tournament.
I'd like to apply this concept to Vice City Any% (and maybe modify rules a bit to fit the number of entrants), I feel VC any% is easy enough for beginners to learn quickly and short enough so that people have enough time to schedule a 1h race once a week
My hopes are that all kind of runners will enter such a tournament (currently active runners, runners that gave up on VC for reasons, runners of other GTA games or even complete beginners) If people seems interested I'll try to organise it with other people help, so don't hesitate to post your opinions/ideas and say if you're interested in entering such event.

Hey, I just created the leaderboard and added the runs from the wikidot, the nico wiki and a couple which were missing. Feel free to submit your times here, and if you want your time removed from this leaderboard, just ask me (either in this thread, via Twitch PM (gaeldemarseille), or on SRL IRC (Gael) )
I've made category decisions that could be controversial like Any% Western vs Japanese ruleset or Any% no job glitch (w/ English translation patch) and Any% glitchless, no encounter skip as miscellaneous categories. I've also made up some rules, that may not be accurate for some categories. Nothing is set in stone and this is why I opened this thread, to get people opinion on the matter I also need a better name for the Encounter Manipulation variable because I don't really like the term "with prior manipulation"
I also didn't create categories for the remakes (DS, PSP, IOS, Android, Steam) because I never played those versions and can't moderate them. And personally I think it would be better to have them as another game on speedrun.com
PS: If you want mod just contact me.
You all know that the 100% category of Vice City has been split in between Ingame 100% and "do everything that gives percentage" since duping was discovered. Everyone is agreeing that "do everything that gives percentage" is the main 100% category (since the other one is boring), this category allows duping any missions you want if it's faster than doing it the regular way, as long as you pass all 153 objectives of 100% (example Jury Fury dupe or Taxi fares dupe)
With the recent Green Pepper/Japanese version discovery it is possible to get the percentage (and the asset completed counter and change the savefile name) from Cherry Poppers without selling any icecreams. But you do not get the asset completed cutscenes nor the reward, a money marker which gives $3000 every 24h.
It was also found that by starting Distribution during the later part of Cabmageddon will somehow start parts of a Chooper Checkpoint Challenge, and I believe than once we'll try out every missions combination (all thousands of them) we might get percentage from a third mission or objective in a similar way than CP skip, the mission would still be doable and the next mission (in the mission tree) may or may not be unlocked.
I feel like this should be reserved for a "glitched 100%" category that already exist (ingame 100%).
Feel free to post your opinions or anything you want to add to the discussion here (100% runners or not).
#NODRAMA
PS: I'm not making a poll until people discuss this. And CP skip is still allowed until a consensus is found on the matter
Rampage start something (here vigilante, but could anything taxi, paramedic or even pcj playground) - cancel the mission (you're still on a rampage) - setup the savewarp at the safehouse near the hospital - start paramedic (while still on a rampage) once the rampage is over you can warp back at the safehouse with the replay
Note: killing a patient on level 6 ISN'T part of the strat Kappa
For NG+
Just duping the 5th time instead of doing it normally, now ladies doesn't even shoot at you
It could be possible to do it on regular NG but when you reach the mission end marker you often¤ start PW2 again and that will crash the game (unhandled exception) when you'll start Cap the Collectors
¤often means that I once manage to not trigger PW2 when finishing it and it worked, but when I tried to record it (4times) it always start the mission and the game crashed during the cap the collectors cutscene
You don't have to be on the platform to set up the stacking (I failed it a couple of times because I'm bad but it's not harder than the usual setup)
During PW2 going around the back seems easier/safer
Also I left my car on the road so the collectors crash into it but it doesn't seem to slow them that much, any idea?
