About the upgrades, you only need the best version of each items. For example you only need to buy the knuckles in the black market at New Yolk City but not the 2 others you can get before.

The upgraded versions of ammo aren't required.

About steef armour upgrades, if you play the game casually that's right, you get them automatically. But the one you get by saving the 1st Grubb village and the other you get in the middle of Last Legs are two upgrade that are possible to skip (and we do skip them in every other categories btw except in 100%)

About the bounties, you can get them dead or alive (but alive will always be faster)
