I'd like to say I'm surprised to see speedrunners acting like children, quotemining, and editing screenshots out of context to make someone look bad, but I'm all too familiar with that. I don't see why you guys are so scared of talking to people on the internet.
But the password screens overall will add a lot of time to the run, and X1 doesn't have much lag to begin with, I don't see why a new category should be made over such a minor (unproven, and potentially not even) potential time save.
Alright, so I was on vacation and now that I am home I see that the moderators haven't fixed the leaderboard yet, so you've had 3 days, what still needs to be done here?
Best Ending Max% just looks like Any% where you forget an item, to me.
NRGzam, I have not "shitposted" at all, I'm merely pointing out that you add japanese runs from 2010-2012, but not American runs from 2010-2012 for arbitrary reasons. It's not my fault that you and your teammates are exhibiting the attributes of racists.
Point is, runs for this category date back to the same time period, if not even earlier, and you ignore them in favor of pretending like I had just made it up last week.
I didn't come up with it, people came up with it multiple years before you have ever made a twitch account. Your personal vendetta against me is not relevant in this discussion.
All I see is racism, to be honest with you guys. Japanese traditions are respected, but not Western traditions. It's unfortunate that you choose to behave this way.
Hey buds, I don't really play this game much these days and don't have the time to keep up with much of the moderating so I'm just gonna go ahead and unmod myself.
Seeya lol.
just for reference, these are the people who were granted moderator for MMX3., by the way.
I'll ignore the shitposting and try to ignore the meme background.
@nrgzam OK, so what you're telling me is that if I, Axon, or Doicm were japanese, then No Doppler Skip would be separated, correct? Both of them ran the category in 2010 and 2012 respectively, before MMRTA existed, and before leaderboards as a whole were even a thing at all, but that doesn't matter because they weren't japanese, right? That's all I am hearing.
Also, ending credits and cutscenes (not even tracked in the run) have little or nothing to do with the run itself. You cannot dance around this. There's no harm in adding No Doppler Skip to misc categories, that's what they're for.
Also, I see that Best Ending Max% is now a category. Even though that's a much smaller difference in route compared to No Doppler Skip and All Stages. I can only assume this is a new category because you all, as a clique, approve of it and think it's a "fun meme", and you don't approve of what I run because of me as a person?
I wish I didn't say I told you so, but... well, I told you so.
I think that the category extension board would look really dumb if it just had one run on it, and all categories should be linked to their respective games.
You can turn off notifications for the time being and bookmark the forum, easy.
Acting like an animal, I.E., outbursts, lack of logic, lack of human cognitive ability. Lashing out at others over nothing defies logic and reason, and thus, can be considered an animalistic urge, as your id is manifesting without being controlled by your human ability.
This is a pointless derailment, and you're engaging an argument for the sake of arguing, which has no effect on the board discussion.
Points still waiting for response: Version categorization improvement All Stages vs Any% vs No Doppler Skip
@Celestinno, can you please stop harassing other users, there's no reason to make a post if it has nothing constructive in it. Please try to control your animalistic urges.
Why does orsa's run deserve its own category when it can just be in the any% column but with a "slower route decision"?
Crak_atak used to pick up items until he realized that not picking up items is faster. However, look at all the other runs in that same board. They all get the saber. Should they be a different category?
But here's the thing: the route differences cause a gameplay difference that saves/loses several minutes and changes the entire course of the run. Why can't they be separated? The goal of each is completely different, they are not comparable. The only reason to merge them is to consolidate "space" as if it were limited, but it isn't.
you're misidentifying the runs. My run isn't done as "Complete X3 with all mavericks defeated", it's "Complete X3 without using the Doppler Skip glitch", that's a route decision that makes the game completely different.
Also, by this same logic, why does All stages even exist to begin with? Any% and All Stages both get similar items, if not the exact same items, so why even have All Stages?
Also, why are low% and any% different categories if they're just a different route decision?
Here's how the board should look: Categories: SNES, Arranged Subcategories, Any%, Low%, 100%, Misc: All Stages, No Doppler Skip, Buster Only
If you format it like this, it makes the board look cleaner and have misc categories only show up for their particular version.
EX: Doom has 4 episodes, and then the categories for each episode show up underneath, makes viewing the runs and understanding the formatting significantly easier, and also allows misc categories to be handled more effectively
