When you are on Geno you are locked in you cant really get off of it.

That is not how the route works in this game, once you exit Outlands you are locked in it. Or you do Dark Neutral which has a completely different ending from regular Neutral

once you get to Undyne with 30 Kills, Alphys will call you and tell you to go the other way to the traveler in order to go to the Rec Center, and you also don't fight mettaton that way.
