Hey guys, (i'm french sorry for my english ^^)
I'm speedrunning Super Mario 64 on EMU (16 stars), and i saw all the streamers and speedrunners starting their timers at 1.36, and all those speedrunners are on N64 so, do i really need to start the timer at 1.36 on my LiveSplit timer ?
If you're using AutoSplit64 to have your splits done automatically, starting timer is at 1.36.
I'm using the autosplits in the "Edit Splits" > and "Settings" besides of "Auto-Splitter with Auto-Start and Auto-Reset functions. Different settings custom splits available. Only for Project 64 v 1.6 (By Spory Tike)" and i'm using the japanse rom of the game, so when i press F1 to reset the rom on Project64, re-starting the game automatically activate the timer, so what i wanna know is if i need to start the timer at 1.36s even if the game start automatically with LiveSplit ?
Thx for the replies :)
I'll admit I'm not too familiar with the built-in Auto-Splitter in LiveSplit since it wasn't working well for me. Either way, the reason why there's a 1.36 delay is that AutoSplit64 detects when the logo pops up, but the game actually restarted 1.36 seconds before that first recognizable frame.
1.36 is used with autosplit64. A consistent way to start the timer is to use a +3 offset and start timer when “Mario” is said on the logo screen.
you don't HAVE to start your timer at 1.36 but at least a second will be deducted from your time VIA mods you don't technically have to have a timer in your video at all though as the moderators will be retiming your runs anyway :)
We would like to announce that VC and EMU subcategories are now active on the Stage RTA leaderboards (under "Levels"). Stage RTA involves collecting all the stars in a given stage including the 100 coin star. Timing starts on star select and ends upon collecting the final star. You are allowed to us
