For various reasons, a new set of changes have been pushed out for the leaderboards (yes, including the Category Extension leaderboards), for many different reasons I don't want to bore you with (although feel free to ask about it in the Shrekciety Discord). In short, the leaderboard rule-set is now much more unified across the entire community. Here's the list of changes, effective starting now:
- 60 FPS and Uncapped subcategories have now been merged, meaning you now get to choose what FPS you want to play on (effectively)
- Cleaned up all existing lagswitch runs off the level leaderboards, since they weren't supposed to be there
- Explicitly specified that the FPS cap for the entire run must remain at the same value
- MasterToolz v4 is now allowed for official leaderboard submissions. This mod is current considered private, but you can reach out to Master_64, should you really want to give it a try (seriously, it's not polished in the slightest yet). The mod will eventually be made public once it's polished. It provides zero gameplay differences across the original run, so there's no competitive advantage to using it, plus the entire mod is optional. This mod will eventually provide a ton of QOL features for every type of runner, including category rule enforcement, a feature menu (instead of a ton of keybinds), in-game speedrun tutorials, and more
If you have any questions about the changes, feel free to ask Master_64 directly in the Shrekciety Discord.
There's quite a lot of room for improvement I've noticed on our leaderboards. I've talked with some others, got help from others, and applied a lot of changes I think everybody should overall appreciate. If you have any questions, let me know in the Shrekciety Discord. Cheers!
