What are some general tips you would give to a new speedrunner on this game?

I got this game on Switch. On the highscore there are mostly PS4 and PC gamers. Any reason for that? Is it more slow on the Switch? Like is the loading screen longer?

Are there any glitches in this game? (I still haven't finished the game so I don't wanna look at the speedruns yet)

And finally, are people still speedrunning this game, or would I be alone if I start speedrunning it?

Well overall PC is the more popular speedrunning platform, there's no big reason the switch is not common in the leaderboards. That said, it IS slower than the other versions because of loading screens, but the mods allowed manually timing them and removing them for the loadless time, making it even with other consoles. On PC that's automatic using LiveSplit so it's more convenient to run the game there.

There are no huge glitches required to run the game as far as we know. The only big glitch is the ramps randomly not giving you full height and making you die lmao, the ultimate anti strat. They are still broken to this day, but at least they are only relevant on the pirate world at the start of the run. Just watch top runs to learn good movement and tricks.

And yeaaa there haven't been active runners in a while but I enjoyed my time with this game so i will most likely answer any questions for any category (except maybe 100% since i only did 1 run and barely practiced it).
