I'm planning on hosting another MCMG tournament this year. I discussed plans for a Famicom Trilogy (Any%) tournament with SpeedGaming, and they seem to be on board. Before I publish an official bracket, I would like to perform a community check to see if we can gather enough people to host such a tournament. Last year we had 4 runners and if I were to do another tournament, I'd like to have significantly more players. I have made a form with a few short and easy questions regarding the tournament. Hello, everyone. Effective immediately, resetting in-between worlds for Yoshi's Island will no longer be allowed in Decathlon Warpless. The YI category in question, "Warpless" does not allow skipping the cutscenes in between worlds, so we feel that it is best to remain consistent with the YI community's definition of a Warpless speedrun. Resetting in between worlds is still allowed for Decathlon Any%.
Hello, everyone! The MCMG moderation team would like to introduce a new category: "Heptathlon".
This category will serve as a hybrid of Pentathlon and Decathlon. Heptathlon will focus on all of the mainline games from Decathlon, but removes the rather "oddball" games such as Vs. SMB, SMAS and Yoshi's Island. The games included are as follows:
SMB1 + SMB2J + SMB2U + SMB3 + SMW + SML1 + SML2
I'm very excited about this new category, and I hope some of you will consider trying this out in the future! :D
