Improvements include route changes to make better use of input buffering.
- Buffer run to first mirror destination
- buffer dismissing party members and acquiring hirelings
- buffer spell casting quite often
- Halls of insanity - changed route to reduce teleports and use transport cube twice, allowed input buffering twice (once when entering to change spells, and again when heading for the second power orb). This also reduced the amount of fights.
- Dark warrior keep - improved teleports so they can be buffered when teleporting in, getting you all the way to the chest.
- Fortress of fear - changed teleport order to reduce number of turns, allowing most of the run to be buffered
- Cathedral of carnage - strafing used to avoid fights to save time
- Tomb of terror - buffer teleports, allow a Ghoul to advance after first orb to avoid fighting it
- Maze from hell - avoid medusa fight by fetching orb from minotaur king at 30,31 instead of 19,19 (should save a few seconds but it's hard to time)
- Pyramids - walk backwards to avoid ranged attacks from tv's, slight buffering
- Lost a few seconds in final pyramid run due to not bashing and unlocking perfectly.
Sub 5 with this route seems unattainable, never say never but it really does. There's a few seconds to save in a perfect run, but with the RNG of the terminator fight at the start I think I'm done for now. In fact, the start is the main time-loss for me here, putting me about 4 seconds behind my best possible time, with only another 3 lost after that for the whole run.
A perfect run on this route might be sub 5.30, but I don't have the patience for that right now...
