So I am brand new to this speed running stuff and therefore don't know the tech side of things. My question is: since I'm using my old DS Lite and don't have $300 to possibly get it modded for screen capture, is there any other way to submit a run? I'm looking to try the any% but I'm not sure what other options are acceptable for submission. I know there's emulators but I'd rather have the physical version that I'm used to (and because I'm too nervous of my laptop exploding). Pls and thank.

Nice to see I'm not the only one looking forward to running this game. Normally it's ok to just film your screen with a camera or your phone. Just make sure the whole startup is shown to, to make sure you dont use a cheat module and your fine.

Always excited to see new players trying out this awesome game, I made a speedrun pack which is specifically designed to help new players get into the game efficiently. It contains everything you need excl the ISO. Emulators are allowed and would advise that as your best move forward since acquiring a DS with a capture card is expensive and rare, alternatively you can run the game on console and use a webcam/camera and film your DS but you need to show both screens. I would advise also to check the rules of this game before starting any runs.
