The problem is that I dont know how to moderate an already existing game, anyone knows how to?
Contact mods for the game if they are active, though usually it is trusted, active members of the community that are chosen. Otherwise use the Support Hub if they are inactive, but make sure to read the rules and requirements found there: https://www.speedrun.com/knowledgebase/supporthub
Hello, I'm bumping this because I just don't understand exactly how can I request to become a mod in an existing leaderboard. Does someone know where is that thread where people requested to be added or to remove an existing mod? Thanks.
@WanderAgro , @jhonnik08 Check out section 24 of FAQs https://www.speedrun.com/speedrunning/thread/pt010/1#s77sn
I've requested moderation for a certain series I run because I can't trust mods there to do their jobs since they have a personal grudge against me. But unfourtunately, my request was rejected, even though they added another runner as a mod a few months back. So I'm asking myself here what are the general politics about moderating a game. You can only be a mod if you're a friend of other runners in that community?
Clearly it contradicts that rule about mods not owning the community.
My ban was because I reported a mod who was very disrespectful towards me and he got banned, but his friends came here to advocate for him and I got banned as well.
@Pear, I don't know about that, I think it's unfair, but I don't know how site staff would react to that, so I'm a little concerned about going that route.
I've just sent a DM to a mod and didn't get an answer. It's probably not going to solve anything.
@WanderAgro There’s nothing anyone in the forums can do about it, so it’s either get in touch with site staff or drop it and move on.
