I wanted to get some opinions on how we split the leaderboard for the game now that it's been changed so heavily. With the updates that are planned to be released, it sounds like the leaderboards will undergo a huge shift eventually anyways due to the addition of a new map and the changes that will probably happen to evidences.

It's mainly just me moderating the leaderboards right now (though I don't have as much time as I'd like to so I haven't kept up lately). What is everyone thinking?

After playing, times will likely be lowered based on the new objectives and other small changes to the map. When it comes to archiving though, I think the old runs are still similar enough to keep up for now, maybe have the patch listed, because it is theoretically still possible to get all the same original objectives in a run. Is it optimal, probably not but it is still possible. In the future archiving will be necessary based on the changes in the roadmap. But from my early impressions, these patches seem similar in gameplay outside of that additional layer of objective rng for speed runs.

If I'm honest, this is the reason I've stopped running the game at this point and check here every couple days. When the fight for WR was going on between Siniik, Demo, and UNWONO I was working on routing and new runs, but after a while the grind of just getting a decent run at shelter just got to be a bit much.

uhh, depending on what the ruling will be for changing the new settings, at least you can have frequent snowmobiles :/

maybe a clean wipe of the leaderboards would be best, with the additional changes. its likely some times might never be beaten by the random objectives now. especially 100%. Also maybe allowing infected masses to spawn would make runs easier as the leeches seem to not go after players as often as they used to. many 100% runs end because of that

After testing and seeing the new update I think the best step moving forward would be adding version column to runs (similar to how Lethal Company does it) Grouping similar version together and splitting major updates (this update would most likely result in a larger split of the leaderboard). This would allow people to play on the version they want as it is possible to downgrade versions (NOTE: after downgrading I have only been able to play in single player in my testing).
