i keep hearing people say that you can avoid rush/ambush's hitbox by hiding in a corner but to my knowledge that does not work. is there a specific hitbox that can be avoided or does it just do a check to see if you are not in a closet and then just kills you. if i were to guess its probably a hitbox so im just wondering if this is even possible to avoid. i always end up losing alot of time on rush and ambush
There are certain spots in rooms where you can crouch and you won't get killed by rush/ambush. I only know a few spots but the one that I most commonly use is in the broken window room, to the left of the double doors is a plant and if you sit behind it you won't get killed.
you can hide in some cross shaped rooms that allow you to survive rush or ambush because those rooms make the entity's go through a certain path, you can also hide inside of closet rooms by just hiding behind the closet, though this doesnt work with ambush since his hitbox is bigger than rush.
so if i enter a cross room from the south door and the next door is the east door and i crouch in one of the west corners i wont be killed?
Yes, either North or West would work in those specific positions.
Although, to play it safe, I would recommend hugging the back wall so you are as far away from the entity as possible. Just in case it's set movement pattern glitched out.
The most common way to avoid it without closet / bed is to avoid line of sight, if you can't see it, it won't kill you. Though there also is a hitbox for rush that you can just get out of as stated above, but don't even try it with ambush.
ambush has a much larger hitbox, and so if you cant hide out of sight, just use a closet, as it'd be more reliable
i've been able to hide from ambush in the t shaped stair rooms, at the bottom of the stairs
there are many places where you can actually hide. vent, other rooms, of there’s two or more ways behind closets ot shelves, same, but in little room with plenty of closets/shelves, in very long rooms with big amount of not used space (like many broken doors), and there are some risky places
Not without risking your entire run, unless you know the exact locations where you can avoid Rush. Ambush is unavoidable pretty sure Edit: I forgot vents
