Hey guys, I just wanted to share some information I found with people that it may benefit the most I'm not a speedrunner and I never have been, however I do like to try and complete games, and in Village there are several boss speedruns required for completion. So I loaded up a ng+ casual file to have tons of high powered weapons and ammo with lower health pool bosses to get them over with quickly, but as soon as I got to Mutated Dimitrescu, no matter how much damage I did I just couldn't kill the boss in under 2:30, and not even close (averages of 2:45) After an extensive amount of WTFs, and no information online, I came across something super atrange that speeds up the bossfight a huge amount regardless of difficulty or kit. I have a video in which I explain and showcase this which I'll link at the end, but I'll give a TL;DR for you guys here as well There is actually what appears to be a flag in the bossfight that has to be met before any damage actually does anything to the boss at all. Once you get to the main section of the tower, there are two archways that Dimitrescu is scripted to break down. What I've found is any and all damage REGARDLESS of power is completely ineffective against her until she has broken down both archways. Thus, that led me to find that the fastest way to kill this boss is to not shoot her at all and run away to get her to bust down the walls ASAP allowing damage to start registering. I hope this information leads to some advancings for you guys, and I look forward to seeing the speedruns flourish. Good luck and happy speedrunning!

Thanks a lot for the information! Indeed I noticed that in my second playthrough I had to use a lot more bullets on her, which felt strange, since I've had stronger weapons by that point. What you say makes total sense then!
I always wondered why she took so much damage, this is huge, thank you for finding and sharing this!
Just wanted to post with some more info. (This is on Village of Shadows btw, not sure how other difficulties operate). She starts with 9000 hp, and will fly away after destroying the two pillars. You CAN damage her before she flies away, but she will reset to 7000 hp upon flying away (I also think she cant be killed at this point.). So you can do 2000 dmg and after that anything else is useless until she flies since the health will reset.
A minor thing too I’ve noticed, with the end up f each “phase” it looks like she bleeds/turns complete red for a second before moving and causing a cutscene to occur. Doesn’t look like firing into her during that time causes any damage. I kept a save right before the fight to test all this threads info out and noticed that.
@Distortion2 Where do u get the health values? Is there a way to activate health bars like in mercenaries mode?

That's pretty huge even for casual runs, especially under challenges like no crafting or pistol only or something. Fantastic work, man.
I may have notice something, so basically I was doing a melee only run with the lightsaber on easy mode and I think she does take damage before the two pillar are destroyed : I basically ran at her and hit her several time with the lightsaber and after some hit she just ignored me and destroyed the two pillar, then fly away, does her bugs attack and then I could see the animation as if she was taking damage and then the quote "Not enough blood" and when she landed the 1st phase was finished, hope it will help
Jesus this explains everything. I've killed her a few times on VoS, and wondered why 1 kill was way faster in spite my using LESS ammo. This is amazing, and it frees up soooooo much ammo.
