Actually I asked Valdio about that and he said it was ok since the time ends on whistle, so I ended up doing that on a actual run, but I've been doing this meme for a long time on dead runs, but never on a actual PB for obvious reasons, even knowing that it shouldn't matter since que whistle is where the time ends.
Not every hack shows credits on any%, actually we have a lot of hacks that doesn't show, like Quickie World 1, Kaizo, Dram 1, GPW1, actually most older hacks that has a nexus level after the any%, and even some newer hacks, like Comfort Zone does the same way, ending any% without credits.
But I see your point, I usually enjoy more faster runs that I could try to optimize the most I can, but since any% seems out of the table I'm gonna try 100%
Like on most of the old days kaizo that has the nexus level, the any% is the level before the nexus, and time IMO would be on grabbing the ORB
Any% for me would be Sewer Or Later, since is the last level possible without the switch palaces, honestly could be a really fun run for people that is starting at Kaizo speedrunning, is short and sweet.
I played the hack today and I got really interested on an Any% run but there is no leaderboard PoroSad...
As far as how the rules are written, is allowed, and I can go on the leaderboard and point at least 50 runs using it, so for now go for it, just use until is banned, what I doubt is gonna be in a foreseeable future
And that's why it should be explicitly written that runahead is banned. Not everyone knows how runahead works, people just assume that is a function that reduces input lag and that's it. As I said, too many times right now, implied rules aren't rules, rules should be explicit and written on the board.
Read the rules regarding emulators and see if there is anything explicitly banning runahead, or even implying that's banned. There isn't anything about that in the rules
So, there was never a decision regarding the use of runahead, and yeah, I agree that it should be banned, is totally a different thing than the zero lag mode of the NT, since the runahead, basically runs another instances of the emulator and try to predict what input you are gonna do in the controller, what can do things with the RNG, gives you a bigger window for doors, can change your jumps and make Mario jump further, and sometimes even jump from the air, there is really nothing with the zero lag mode of the NT, that basically disables the framebuffer and makes the console run at native speed, what also reduces the input lag at the cost of some stuttering.
I think it might be an interesting category, yesterday I did some meme runs and I had a ton of fun
