The boards used tohave a NG+ category tbf! I got rid of them sadly back when I thought there was near no activity for this game and the category was just there lifeless.
If runners want to bring it back though with some other categories, would love to see it!
Ngl, this is an extremely impressive setup! I need to pay more attention to this game lol. Massive grats, Kitty! and amazing find!!
Hi Everyone! Nost here, rising from inactivity! ^^;
First of all, I want to apologise to everyone for inability to get runs verified for many months now. Have spent the past year working a full-time job alongside a second part-time job and still confused how to get my priorities straight! I will get to work on these as soon as the time arises!
From this, you all will be able to understand that I'm going to be looking for another moderator to join me in managing this leaderboard! Seeing the activity for this game progress is something I am truly happy to see and I would definitely love to have someone who is passionate about the game to help out! Additionally, I am hoping the new moderator can help out with coming up with any new category ideas that I may have missed out originally when creating this board. Like reviving NG+? First to so many points on endurance mode etc? I'd like to hear it!
Here is the src rules to moderation so you can familiarise yourself with what else comes with the responsibility: https://www.speedrun.com/knowledgebase/moderation-rules
If you are interested, please submit this form: https://forms.gle/p26JW7EgvzbXb7o8A
Deadline for the above form is Thursday 17th March 2022 9:00AM GMT (UTC 0:00).
If you have any futher questions, please feel free to add to this thread and I will aim to get back to you as soon as I can!
Cheers and good luck! Nost!
Yo Dylan! I know you're mentioning this for accessibility to wrong warp in SRT2, but can I ask you for further investigation into run performance for higher framerates across the whole of SRT? This is definitely something that we can look into now that the PC version has been out for long enough now, but I know there are little weird artefacts for extreme frame rates, be it low or high.
For examples: Extremely Low allows for rediculous jumps (not to mention game looking near unplayable):
Extremely High allows for random spyro sliding (cant find clips but you will hear many accounts of this) and extremely high fairy proxy:
Will second this. My guide is only really now viable as a console runner's guide (except for the Gnorc Cove section). Think either TKat or Bobby may have some tutorially work to do ;)
Glad to see you're highly enthusiastic and interested in the run, Emily!! Because of this, I would recommend you come join the Spyro Speedrunning Discord server as there are plenty of folks that can help you out there. (Invite link here: https://discord.com/invite/GDYcVjg ) We'll be over in the #srt-spyro1 channel!
With alpine ridge, thats a common one! Are you running the game in 60fps? Because its a flaw in the game that at 60, the druids cycles just start to break and make certain parts like that wall practically unplayable until you change framerate. Thats why we would recommend running the game at 50fps instead as you wont get this issue.
With Livesplit, you could add an extra timer to your layout and in the layout settings, set that to only time Real Time and your main timer you can have running against current comparison (which will most likely be your game time if you have set that). Honestly tho, you do not need to have your real timer showing for the run to be verified, just the loadless timer.
Also, credits are skippable! Not sure how they're done with keyboard and mouse but on controller (PS4), the Triangle button skips it! To get the ingame timer, you will need to show your guidebook at the end of the run as that is visible in the top right corner.
Again, feel free to record your video and share it with us in the discord server or if you want to run through what can be verified, feel free to message one of the leaderboard moderators too and we can help you out when we get the time :)
There is an autosplit feature which automatically pauses the timer with Livesplit when you choose to run under the Spyro Reignited Trilogy (PC) game option. Make sure thats activated and compare your splits against Game Time to make this visible and that you are running livesplit on the same computer as you are running the game on.
We cannot accept runs for the PC boards that do not use this timer so sadly manually subtracting it from editing the video is not allowed.
A few of these I think I cover in my Any% NBS tutorials. Link for those are here: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_iZdgBV8YUROFs_sxTmV_u8MitQBMv5s
Sadly I'm not going to be of much help when it comes to keyboard and mouse runs as I've never tried a run with that.
With the different fairy proxies, a lot of what sort of proxy you get is down to the positioning of spyro on Nils' platform before the fairy appears. (I may make a video detailing these soon)
There are no rules on using the map, if you want to have that on during your right, thats totally acceptable! ^_^

For categories: SRT1 Vortex% SRT1 80 Dragons No Balloonist Skip SRT1 NG+ 120% SRT2 100% No Level Storage Any% Trifecta No Major Skips 337% Trifecta No Major Skips
Will consider to add individual categories to official leaderboards if active enough.
ToastedKat is right, gunna have to refer you to https://www.speedrun.com/spyrortpc leaderboard for that wallglide trick.
Sadly for console, you're gunna have to run through the entire of cove without getting hit being your best bet. There is sortof a chunk load manipulation tho that allows you to time a charge before one of the big gnorcs throws down a tnt barrel that you can evade.
