Currently "Emulator" is a mixed category which includes PSP (since it is technically an emulator for that game) aswell as the software emulation on PC (ePSXe and all the other names) If we say we should only use 1 emulator , his automaticly means that psp is no longer an "emulator" which is honestly plain stupid. The same would be if we would just say Emulator is PSP only.

And ontop of that the complete DinoCrisis2 leaderboards needs to be resettet because no video shows what emulator / version is being used. Which automaticly makes every run submitted invalid. And then the same again, how will you actually proof that you use the correct emulator, this automaticly forces you to run your stream windows that it shows what emulator you are using.

And then the most important thing is that everyone has a free choice what he want to use. As long as frames are not speedup or skipped in any ways it does not matter what emulator is being used. Because you will never be able to 100% check how IGT is compared unless you have 100% the same run on both emulators which is lets be honest impossible. Because its not only the program itself, there are also other factor that can happen whilst running. Suddenly your PC does stuff, program laags, whatever it may be.

I have to fully agree with that what Furry said on the other thread. The problem is not the Emulator and i hope that this will be realized soon

well sadly there is no thing like a "testing board" whenever a leaderboard is made it automaticly counts as regular runs which would be against the meaning of this site. So in that case you might have to do a workaround like just writing the times in a forum topic or maybe one of those google doc. excel thingys that can be shared. But then again even if we would know the difference we cannot change Emulators as a rule that would mean we have to remove psp entirely and every old run and even possibly every new run if the player fails to show what emulator he is using in that run

Its nice that you made an effort and compared them ! Thanks for that! This again shows why i dont understand why Deadhunter suddenly came up with that emulator thingy i suppose you guys had a private conversation or something. Because as i already said, forcing a rule to only use 1 emulator that is actually even worst than epsxE is jsut stupid. AND we had to elete ALL emulator runs because of that. As you can imagine.. that would be impossible to and the other runners would not like that. Just imagine what would happen if that would happen on a big game like RE3.. we probably would have WorldWar3 LOL.. And ontop of that the RE guys highly recommend epsxE nit just for fun ! Anyways.. i hope with that things are cleared up now!

Why? Whats the reason behind try to enforce an emulator limitation? What makes this one "Legit" compared to old trusty ePSXe? ontop of that, wanting to force using a specific emulator means that PSP can no longer be used, and current WR's / Times must be deleted unless there is given proof that PSXJin has been used.

Sorry but i dont really see a reason why this should be a rule, it litterly just makes unneccesary trouble

Hey, sorry for late reply. The segmented Category is already up for all Consoles / Platforms. Usually how it works when you submit a segmented run is, that you have all your segments on youtube, and in the Video-Link you put in the 1st Part of the Video-Clips and the 1st Part is obivously linked into a youtube-playlist where we can watch the other parts aswell. Incomplete segments will result in a deny of the run. But that should be clear anyways, as far as where to do the segments, that should be discussed maybe together with Deadhunter since he is currently more active at Dino2 and might have a better overview of it.

As far as i can tell for Hardmode is that actually no one really run it thats why there is no category yet. And to be fair that the DinoCrisis series (sadly in my opinion) is kind of unpopular to run. However i dont see any points that would speak against adding HardMode as category.

I will add it in in the next days so just keep your eyes open :)

Now i had a problem which made my Hardware Acceleration "dissapear" for older games / games that use DirectDraw Engine and stuff. This is in this case the ResidentEvil Series for PC and DinoCrisis 1 & DinoCrisis 2 . The reason is that the old games are made and use the DirectX 32bit Engine - which is in Win8 and 8.1 64bit Systems particially dissabled this leads into people only can use RGB Emulation on those Games. Now the Solution works for almost every "older" game and luckly for us we just need to check a little box.

You can either do a long "workaround" via the Windows-Registry or use this nice little tool that Windows does not come with by default which is a simple DirectX-Control Panel.

Original Download here: http://www.3dcenter.org/download/directx-control-panel Mirror Download: https://mega.co.nz/#!xIoiHDaK!vaesL_I0f7xH5t_cTKkZYfDspFM71a2eelmMQQdhiKU

Now after downloading the zip and extracting the files, run the x86.exe of the two files (dxcpl_x86) . After opening go to the "DirectDraw" Panel and Check "Use Hardware Acceleration" (See Screenshot for details here : http://i.imgur.com/5njoOkO.jpg )

Now simply click "Apply" and you're ready to go. For some Games like RE3 jp version i had to activate WinXP-SP3 compatibility mode. But this is optional and might not apply to everyone.

Now just Change the Graphic Settings back to your GPU (as you might used to have) and you're ready to go and get a new WR..maybe #Kappa
